  1. My sister and husband are on Celebrity Beyond right now and apparently there is some sort of technical issue right by Aruba. Captain request two tugboats. At first they were doing donuts and now they're at a full stop. Anyone on board have an idea what's going on? It's my sister and husband's 10 yr anniversary today and he's Dutch so getting on Aruba to have their celebration dinner is a big deal.

  2. Leaving in a month and I still can't figure out if I want to do a group tour or do Capri on our own. We just want to spend a full day in Capri. I'm worried about standing in long lines for hydrofoil, funicular, chairlifts, etc. I thought I saw a tour outfit that purchases all tickets for you in advance although I can't remember if that included the hydrofoil or not. A boat tour around the island is preferred over the Blue Grotto if there is a long wait. I was thinking that once we get to Capri, we take a taxi to Anacapri right away. Is this a good strategy?

  3. I bet we will see the Cowboy's star onboard Carnival ships , and on other things onboard , I would think t-shirts , Mugs , maybe napkins , ect

I forgot to add that if the Cowboys Cheerleaders will be onboard, my husband will definitely want to take more Carnival cruises! Carnival does need new entertainment right?

  4. America's Team is whoever you root for. There's no way an Eagles, Redskins or Giant fan will ever say that Cowboys are America's Team! We went on the Magic 2 years ago out of Galveston and every one that we met was from Texas/OKC or Louisiana. There is a huge market here.

My family goes to the Cowboys games which feels real different in the new AT & T stadium vs. the Texas stadium. Cowboys just broke ground in my town in Frisco Texas for their new training facility which will also include restaurants and shopping venues. I've been living here 10 years (originally a Northeasterner) and we do get caught up in the excitement at Cowboys games. Great marketing for a team that breaks their fans hearts every year. That being said, I will always be a Giants fan and wear my shirt proud at Cowboys vs Giants games. Wonder if I'd get thrown overboard with my Giants t-shirt on?

That being said, we have a conflict of interest in my house. My 14 year old was asked and will be dancing this Saturday night onstage with the Dallas Cowboy Rhythm and Blues Dancers (DCRB) at a dance fest. She's has danced at the stadium before and is very excited that Carnival and Cowboys are getting "married" (her words). She thinks she'll get to cruise more which I hate to break it to her - isn't happening! I am not choosing a cruise line one way or another over an affiliation with a football team.

  5. Happened to see one balcony cabin open up today on opposite side of ship and one interior cabin on same side three doors down. Switched cabins. Carnival told me that they would have had to move not only the kids handicap cabin but also our balcony together. Minors can't be more than 3 doors away from parents. It all worked out and I'm glad I checked the website today. Thanks for all your advice!

  6. Cabins were not booked on guarantee. There was nothing on the deck plan that I saw that indicated 9204 is an accessible cabin. Now when I look at Carnival's website there is only one cabin for an inside room available and that is on the other side of the ship. My kids need to be somewhat near us and Carnival has them both assigned to the room even though they are minors. In the past, we had to assign one parent with one child in a cabin and the other parent with one child in the other cabin. Kids are 16 & 14 now.

I do feel bad if someone really needs an accessible cabin and also for the poor cabin steward who is going to be picking up soaking towels from daughters.

My kids are just thrilled to go and are happy they don't have to sleep in an airbed!

  7. I booked two cabins for our family of four a few weeks back - a balcony for my husband and I and an inside cabin for my girls (16 & 14) on the Carnival Breeze. I have the forward balcony 9208 and my kids were put in 9204 which after a bit of investigation tonight appears to be a handicap cabin. I was not told this when I booked and I am not too thrilled about this. First, there are folks that genuinely need an accessible cabin and secondly, my youngest has been known to flood cabins with the shower.

What are the differences in a regular inside cabin vs. inside handicapped one? Is there less closet space?

  8. I have to take a fan for the first time ever on a cruise for my 14 yr old daughter. We usually get 2 insides for our family of four. For some reason, our room seemed cooler than the kids room both times. Half way through the cruise my older one had to switch with me and go with my husband and I went to the stuffier cabin with my younger daughter. My 14 yr old has asthma and is really sensitive with the heat. My kids keep their thermostat at home at 68 degrees at night.

It used to be that cabins were really chilly but now it seems warmer to me. The common areas are still on the cool side but the room seems like stagnant hot air. On our next cruise, we have a balcony and the kids have the inside room. There is no way I'm giving up my balcony to my daughter! She loves the fan idea and I'm going to get myself over to Walmart today and pick one up for her.

  9. My husband bought a tux many years ago and used to bring that. Then he downgraded to a suit and now he just wants to wear a sport jacket.

I am completely fine with that as I don't like to pack elegant clothes anymore.

Because we are such a busy family and my husband travels internationally (with suits and sport coats), we need to just relax and let our hair down. We are just happy to spend to quality time together. We look nice every night even if it's jeans.

My girls (14 & 12) will probably wear dresses all the nights because they wear them to school anyway.
