    Please let me know how it was. This could be perfect for me and my elderly parents for next May.

    Have a wonderful time.

    We loved our Golf Cart Tour with: http://www.mybesttour.com/.

    We rode the train to the San Pietro Station and Vic picked us up in the golf cart and delivered us back to that station when we were finished. It took us longer than we expected to get off the ship and to the train so we were a few minutes late meeting our driver. I had their phone number so I called to let them know we would be late.

    We are mid 70s so it was perfect for us. I can't imagine seeing Rome any other way. Vic was delightful, had lived in the US for many years so his English was perfect. They were very good about responding to my emails during my planning days. I hope you all have a wonderful trip.

  2. Hi, we just returned from Marseilles a few days ago. The port bus runs from 9 am - 5 pm. Since we left the ship at 7 am, we took the #35 city bus going into town, but on the way back, we did the port bus. It comes around every 30 minutes, and it is a large articulated bus so it can hold a lot of people and luggage. You can find the stop in town near Place de la Joliette. You will need to go through the white fence (there's a security guard there checking for room cards).

    Here are the exact coordinates of the bus stop you can input onto Google Maps:

    43.304835, 5.364811

    Thank you very much.

  3. Hi, I did a search but came up empty. Has anybody used the company Driver Guide Service in Rome? I am most interested in the golf cart tour but would appreciate any and all feedback.

    If you have done a golf cart tour with another company I would love to hear about that as well.

    ============================================

    We have a golf cart tour booked for Nov. 21, 2016 (42 days!) with this company: http://www.mybesttour.com/ . They had very good reviews on Trip Advisor.

    My husband & I are going to take the train from Civitavecchia to the San Pietro Station where they will pick us up - and deliver us back. We have a six hour tour in a golf cart.

  4. Just back from my cruise and there were definitely 2 companies offering the boat to Oia. Price for boat, bus up to Oia, bus back to Fira and cable car back down to pier was 20 euros. Be sure to reserve your return bus time when you get off the bus in Oia as they do fill up fast.[/quote

    ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

    Thanks for the update. That makes me feel better. How did you like Sanorini? And how was the line for the cable car?

  5. For the first time EVER , Cruise Mom isn't completely correct!;)..we loved SimplyAmalfi for our naples portstop but had a less than good experience with Sicily Life the very next day.

    =================================================

    We are booked with SimplyAmalfi for our Naples - and Livorno - stops in November so I was happy to see this post. Thank you Clay.

    I was very impressed with their website and with the good reviews on Trip Advisor.

  6. I'm wondering if a cruise exists that visits (in any order) Spain, France, Italy and Greece? Thank you!!

    ============================================

    There's an 11 day cruise on the NCL Spirit departing Barcelona on Nov. 17 with stops in France (Marseille & Monte Carlo), Italy (Florence, Rome, & Naples), Greece (Santorini & Athens), and Croatia (Zadar), and ending in Venice.

    And we're booked on it - I'm so excited.

  7. Can you tell us the price for the high speed boat ride from the cruise ship tender boats to Oia? Thank you!

    ==========================

    I purchased tickets for two on line from Aegean Traveller for 20 euro each for Nov. They included cable car from Fira back to ship. I can't vouch for the company but I guess I'll find out in Nov.

  8. what was the site that you got this from? It sounds very interesting...and if you don't mind, what again does it exactly include?
    ===============================

    This is the site I used:

    http://www.aegeantraveller.gr/

    Go to the lower part of the page. Under "Cruise Visitors - Oia Transfers - Direct", click on "Book Now.

    This is what it says it includes:

    "[Transfer to Oia by Speedboat & return to Fira by bus Departure[/b] from the old port of Fira by speedboat to reach in only 15 minutes Ammoudi bay at the bottom of the picturesque and traditional village of Oia.

    There the partner agency will do the transfer by bus from the small harbor until the tourist parking of the village.

    The pickup point of the bus to reach the capital of Santorini, Fira, will be at same place.

    In Oia you will have 1 – 2 – 3 or maximum 4 hours of free time, every hour after the arrival it is available a transfer by bus as well included in the ticket, from Oia to Fira.

    In Fira the free time depends from the departure time of the last tender to return back on your cruise ship. In the price of 20 euros is also included the ticket of the cable car to come down at the old port."

    I'm not going until Nov. Let me know how it turns out for you.

  9. I think this is correct. Actually, I was researching on Santorini for our September's Cruise excursion. What I have learnt so far is that when you get to the Tender port, you have options of buying a 15 EUR ticket to Oia - i.e, Go by a water taxi (speedboat) to Ammoudi Bay and then a Shuttle up to Oia Village and a choice of flexible timing bus to Fira - All this for EUR 15. In your case, since it includes a Cable Car down from Fira, I would assume it as an appropriate price.

    Let me know what you finally decide.

    ==============================================

    I've already booked the tickets (2 for $40). I have heard from two more couples on our CC Roll Call that they have done the same thing. So I've decided to stop worrying about it. If they aren't at the Tender port, then we hopefully will be able to buy tickets from someone else.

    I do plan to report back here how things go for us in Santorini. I hope you will let us know how your Sept. trip turns out.

  10. Hi Guys,

    Taking my first cruise with my (future) wife for our Honeymoon in September. ==============================================

    Congratulations on your upcoming marriage. I hope that things work well for your honeymoon trip. Whether or not the Cruise departure goes as well as you would have hoped, I wish you a long happy marriage. Whichever way the departure goes, I hope it makes for an interesting story you will still be telling grandchildren 50 or 60 years from now.

  11. We will be on NCL Spirit on Nov. 18 in Marseille. I have read many posts, over a period of time, about a shuttle from the cruise port in Marseille to Old Port where you get the Le Petite train. I am unclear on three points: 1. Should we expect there to be a shuttle in November? 2. If so, what is the cost? 3. is it operated by NCL or by the port?

  12. Has anybody here heard of the Aegean Traveller Tour? We are booked in Nov. 2016 with them. It's advertised as "Transfer to Oia by speedboat in 15 minutes + transfer by private bus from the ammoudi bay to Oia town + transfer by private bus from Oia town to Fira town + cable car ticket to reach the old port where you have to get the tender to get back on board of the cruiseship."

    My understanding is that you get on the speedboat where you get off the tender. I haven't heard much about it so I'm a little nervous. It was only $ 20 per person. Does that sound like "If it's too good to be true, it probably is"?

    Anybody?

  13. We booked our cruise with a large online Travel Agent. They are affiliated with Shore Excursion Group to book excursions. They have nice packages for our upcoming summer Mediterranean Cruise. I have seen some very good reviews and some not great reviews. I am apprehensive to trust them to our excursions, but it would make things so much easier. There is not much of a roll call yet and teaming up with other passengers may not be viable.

    I have the same question.
