  1. We will arrive in Juneau at 2pm on Aug. 24th and are there until 11pm. We want to do a whale watching tour with Harv and Marv that starts at 5 pm. My question is do we have time to go to Mendenhall Glacier between 2 and 5 pm. If so should we just take a taxi from port to glacier and then glacier to dock to meet Harv and Marv tour, or is there a better way?

    Thanks in advance.

  2. We are taking our adult children and grandchildren on a 5 day cruise. When we booked our son and dil had a special rate for 3rd and 4th guest in cabin for $10 each. So we booked our 2 grandchildren who belong to our daughter in our sons OV cabin that can hold 4 people. Once we get on the ship our son & dil and Daughter & sil are going to swap rooms so that the parents are in cabin with children. But now our children are nervous about being questioned at checkin as to why children aren’t staying in the same cabin as the parents, even though they actually will be. Anyone ever done this and have advise?

  3. We will be on the Carnival Sunshine in Bermuda in September.  We arrive at 10 am and will stay overnight.  We have an island tour scheduled with one of the locals on the first day.  Any good ideas of what we can do the second day?  We leave at noon so back on board time will be 11:30.  Would love to go to a beach or snorkel.  Any suggestions would be appreciated.

  4. We were there 2 weeks ago and had a very enjoyable trip. It was our 5th or 6th time there. The food is wonderful! A storm had come through the day before, so the beach had plenty of seaweed. But they had a gentleman raking the entire time we were there. It was a quiet and relaxing day. You can rent water mats to float on. I think they were $7 per day. Enjoy!

  5. I would highly recommend Miss T's Kitchen in downtown Ocho Rios. Very diverse menu (not just jerk), nice location, and top notch service. The shrimp rundown, fried chicken, and oxtails are out of this world. Don't forget to have a rum punch!

Is it within walking distance of port?

  6. We will have a stop in Aruba on Sunday, March 13th. Will this be during spring break for college students? We have been to Aruba several times and are kind of at a loss of what to do. We have been on a catamaran snorkel, a private tour of the island, the beach and lunch at Salt & Pepper. Any other ideas?

  7. I know it's been a few months, but I was researching Trinidad & Tobago and came across this thread. I'm on the Carnival Liberty in March 2016 and it's doing a repo cruise from SJU to Galveston. One of the stops is Scarborough, Tobago. Great deals on the cruise, too! It's 12 day and the rate is about $50/day for inside and oceanview. Just thought I'd let y'all know! Some other stops are Barbados, Grenada, Grand Cayman, St Thomas, etc.

We will be on this cruise as well. Still trying to figure out what to do in this port and Grenada. Any ideas?

  8. Well, I tried searching for this with very mixed results.

I purchased Early Saver with price protection. Currently, Early Saver Last Call is still available for my cabin type, floor, and number of passengers, but NOW they are offering a $50 OBC with the deal.

Through the price protection, am I eligible to receive this OBC? Would I fill out the same price protection form even though the price of the fare isn't different?

Thank you! Just needed some clarification!

Yes, you can. We are booked ES on a cruise in November. The price is the same but now they are offering the $50 OBC. I just filled out the price protection form with this info and they approved it. Hope it works for you!

  9. In that you are first time visitors to the island I would suggest a guided tour of the island. This way you will know the sights are seeing. AND you won't miss any of the highlights.

If you are adventurous you will not want to miss a tour which stops at the Natural Pool. Check out ABC Jeep Tours or Kini Kini Tours for more info.

For something more sedate, a private tour by taxi would cover all of the highlights.

Yes, you can rent a car and do it all on your own. ;) Do a search here in the forum on renting a car. There are some positives as well as negatives.

Thank you so much. I had already been looking at ABC Jeep Tours. I think we might try them. I hope we aren't too old for it though (LOL). Thank you!

  10. My DH and I will be in Aruba via the Pride in March. We are there from 8am to 8pm. We don't really want to spend our day at the beach or on the water, but would love to see the island. How should we do that? Tour? Taxi? Rental car? What sites do we not want to miss. Any advise you have (or anyone else) would be greatly appreciated. Also advise on a good local restaurant.

    Thanks in advance!

  11. I also tried to get in touch with compass to make a reservation. I've tried 3 times over the last 2 weeks. And haven't heard anything.

Did you ever hear anything from Compass? I've been trying to contact them too.

  12. The one we did starts at the top. They drive all the way to the top of the main hill for it. It had about 13 zips and they drive you back up to the beginning when its over. You to have to walk from one platform to the other and some have a few steps. I honestly don't think it was to bad. Im a fluffy girl and handled it fine. What I would do is contact them and talk to them about it. If you email Christopher Tours direct it is the owner that answers you and not the outside co he has if you go thru the link on the webpage. So you can ask him and he can help you figure out which one would be best. If it helps my 66 yr old mother did it and she can't climb stuff.

They took us to South Shore zip.

Sorry, it was South Shore Zipline.

Christopher Tours us great. I believe they took us to Shoreline Zip Tours. My husband is a heart patient and did fine with the ziplining. There was no climbing that I remember, maybe a few steps. I don't think you will be disappointed.

  14. I am a platinum cruiser with Carnival but have never used a PVP consistently. Several months ago I sent a message to JH about a negative experience I had had with one that I had been trying to work with. He had a different one call me and work through the situation. Well, last night I had one call me to "follow up on my complaint". He seemed to not know that I had already received a call back in March but did have all of my information. He proceeded to give me his credentials, talk about being able to offer me OBC without having ES rate, and then say if I would send him an email "to whom it may concern, I want to work with __________ and him only for my present and future bookings" he would take over my account.

So my question, is this unusual? I thought it rather strange and don't want to fall into some type of scheme. He did give me a all back number and it us Carnival.
