  1. OK those are scheduled airlines so will have their own check in desks which should open 3 hours prior[budget airlines share desks so only open up 2 hours prior]

Marco polo airport has a reputation for disorganisation and allowing time for getting through security after check in bag drop is best to err on side of caution!

I would aim for noon flight and pre book a taxi from the cruise terminal which will take 20 minutes

We're getting off a ship on the 28th of this month with a party of 6. I know everyone says there are plenty of taxis available at the port, but we would like the peace of mind knowing we had one pre booked. Do you know of a trusted site to pre book a land taxi?

    Thanks :)

  2. So the ultimate drink package gives you a 40% discount for all purchased wine bottles less than $100 each.

Question: can you have that wine poured to everyone at the table, or is that also exclusively for the UDP owner and not to be enjoyed by anyone else?

One one hand, that would make sense and seem fair, on the other, as with everything, one can envision abuse such as putting up a table in a busy hallway and take orders from passerby's offering a 20% discount :D

Wonder whether Princess has an official policy on this?

We were told you could "share" a purchased bottle with the table, while it's not kosher to buy someone a single glass with the package. Because we were able to find enough by the glass wine we enjoy, we never considered buying a bottle even with the 40% discount.

  3. We were on the Regal from the 11th to the 18th of Jan. We pre-purchased the package before leaving home. The stickers were on our room keys when we checked in. The 1st drink purchased on board was a mojito and the glass was packed with ice. It was a good drink, but there were only 3 to 4 good swallows. With all the specialty coffees and teas as well as waters and gelato, we felt like it was a worthwhile purchase. (especially not having to reconcile all the receipts!) It covered everything we had to drink all week. Only a handful of items were over the 10.00 limit. It appeared there were a considerable number of passengers that had purchased the package. :)

  4. My wife and I just booked the Feb. 21st 2015 sailing of the Caribbean Princess. I was looking at our online booking and I noticed that even though we have pre-payed our gratuities for the trip and purchased the beverage package, it doesn't show up on our reservation. Is this normal? I wasn't sure because it's been a long time (well before beverage packages and pre-payed gratuities) since I've been on a princes cruise.

    Thanks!

We're on the Regal in January. We booked a promo that included prepaid gratuities and we also bought 2 drink packages. Ours doesn't show up either, even though Princess tells me it's there. The Princess rep could see it on his side and so I asked if he could e-mail me copies showing both which he gladly did. We always like to have something printed showing anything extra that's included. It can save a lot of headaches on board if an issue arises. Make a quick call and I'm sure they'll be happy to e-mail you something.

  5. We too have cruised in everything from an inside to a suite. Never had a balcony until we did Alaska a number of years ago. Now the better half won't let me book anything below a balcony. Have a mini booked on the Regal for this January, L108. It's all the way forward and has a huge balcony. Will let you know how we like it. The suites and the minis definitely have an advantage when it comes to the bathrooms, and that's important to the DW! Myself, as long as I'm on the boat when it sails, I could pretty much be happy anywhere. For me, price still is a big consideration on where we end up cabin wise. It's isn't that we're not in a position to afford it, as the good Lord has blessed us. It's more about what makes sense and I can't bring myself to pay double for a suite. Rather have the extra $$$ for spending money on the ship or towards the next cruise! :D

  6. I'm sitting here reading this mid morning, and looking at all your fantastic pictures and reviews. Thanks a lot! Now I'm starved. :D DW and I are on the Regal in January (1st Princess cruise) and hope we're half as lucky as you were. The pictures look awesome and bring back memories of our 1st HAL cruise over 30 years ago. We've been on over a dozen cruises since that 1st one and definitely don't think the food quality is what it was years ago. However, after looking at your pics and reading your descriptions, I'm ready to go tomorrow! Thanks for all you time and effort in putting this together. :)

  7. If you're a HHonors member, The Hilton Molino Stuckey is right across the canal from the cruise ship terminal. It's an awesome hotel. We enjoyed our stay there and it was easy to get to the ship from there.
  8. I've been going back and forth on this and finally decided to take the plunge. It will definitely be a savings for me and my better half should break even. We're on the Regal in January and we have 3 days at sea plus the day on Princess Cay. We just rebooked for a lower rate plus got free gratuities :D:D for our mini-suite, so that definitely entered into the decision. Thanks again for all the effort that went in to this evaluator tool. I don't think we would of tried the package without using the tool 1st. :)

  9. Anybody have experience bringing boxed wine onboard?[/Q

I'm asking the question only to determine how they "count" a box. We have found several of the boxed wines to actually be quite acceptable and you don't have to be concerned with a possible broken bottle.
