  1. We sail Nov 10th and I was told that we needed to upload a recent photo on the Navigator app.   I cannot find any place to do this..... is this one of those functions that magically appears when your cruise is imminent?   Also, I watched a great video of the app functions when they were relaunching it this summer, but I cannot find it anywhere.   Anyone have any information?   Thanks!

  2. Usually I purchase a plan that costs $50 for 100 Minutes or $100 for 250 Minutes.   It was a good deal especially last spring when our house was for sale.   I usually sign on, download my email and then sign off again.   I just got off the Koningsdam and they just introduced new plans that cost $25.00/day or a set amount for the cruise... some plans for social media and others for email.   I didn't like this change, since this would over quadruple my cost to use the internet (I was on board for 31 days) and voiced my disapproval both to the front desk and on the post cruise survey.  As a result, for the first time, I did not use the internet.  US customers can usually get plans for the Caribbean on their phones, unfortunately Canadians cannot.   If you are going on the Eurodam in March there are a lot of sea days.   I hope they have not changed over to this new plan.

  3. We just got off and had a wonderful cruise.... it was our second cruise on the Koningsdam. Some suggestions for the new ships.....Bigger hot tubs would be nice (other than the one in the midship, they are only meant for 2 people and I often see 4 trying to get in) and the stairs in the aft pool go into the deep-end????? Bizzarre! The size of the aft pool is too small, there is enough deck space to expand it a couple of feet on each side. I seldom saw anyone in the expensive jewelry stores on deck 2.... seems like a real waste of space. Also, I was constantly directing people on how to get to either the Crows Nest or how to find their rooms on deck 11.... it would be really hard for a new cruiser. My other comment is that there are not enough tables for 2 in the dining room. Not everyone likes to eat every meal with strangers. We stuck to our guns and were able to get a table of 4 for us (as a table for 2) for most of the cruise. I agree it would be nice if they could make the bathroom four inches wider, so you can sit on the toilet properly.... otherwise it is a beautiful bathroom. The Promenade deck is very narrow. and dark, we missed not having deck chairs in the shade (all the lounge chairs are in the sun and it is nice to be able to sit in the shade and read a book).

  4. We have booked on the Oosterdam from Vancouver to Aukland and are really looking forward to it. We have been on the Westerdam, Nieuw Amsterdam, Eurodam and Noordam. My sister and her husband went on a cruise our of San Diego a couple of years ago and really enjoyed the ship, although they had a few issues with meals at the Pinnacle. We have booked our 40th Anniversary dinner at the Pinnacle as we cross the International Dateline, so are hopeful that any problems have been rectified.

We are interested in hearing from other cruisers about shore excursions, either through HAL or independent, that will help make this a cruise to remember. We have never been to Hawaii, or anywhere in the South Pacific. What are the "must see" things to see and do?
