  1. We did this cruise last year and the posts are bringing back wonderful memories of a bucket list cruise.   Azamara certainly went the extra mile.   We mainly did ships tours, although used travel with locals in Tokyo.   Went with guide before boarding ship and then on our day in Tokyo before disembarking.

I've had less than great success with them over the years. The worst was Manhattan, but that was probably my first HOHO and I mistakenly was trying to use it for transportation versus staying on for an overview. Back to a previous poster, that's the most common complaint in London. Ride the loop, get a feel, take the Tube for transportation.

I am from London.  Have taken American friends into London and only used bus for sightseeing.   Never for transportation!  Tube is better and faster because of London traffic.

Have used the bus in many cities,  some better value than others.

  3. Well I have just had an interesting conversation with customer service.  I have often paid for excursions way in advance using my OBC.   Namely Japan excursions and the Petra excursion for our cruise in 2 weeks time over a year in advance.

Now there is a new rule!  I cannot pay until 30 days before the cruise departs.  We have a B2B and the 2nd cruise leaves on 13th November.   But as October is 31 days I cannot use my OBC till tomorrow.  $300 of this OBC is for excursions.  Anyone else heard of this rule change?

Last week my loyalty points changed….probably for the 20th time.  Still wrong and I’m tired of filling out “the form”.  We did not get credit yet for our April 1 Japan cruise.  I was hoping everything would be correct by the time we board in 8 days.  We are due free nights, but if our loyalty points are not updated we won’t get to book while onboard.  We were supposed to get credit back to our credit card for several tours and they were supposed to take from our OBC…… never happened.  This has been going on too long.

We were on the same cruise as you, our points also changed this time.  Correct number but wrong class (in our favour).  We also received our FCC for our friends first Azamara who came with us.  Things seem to be happening!

  5. We did a refer for our friends for our Japan Cruise in April 23.  Their OBC appeared very quickly for their first cruise.  Well we would like to use our FCC for our cruise in October 23.  Hope that will work.

    Thanks, Colin

It would be great if you could report back on what actually happens at the pier on Friday!

An email from Azamara today sends me to statements that everyone will be tested at the pier (Italian departure) and that results will be sent by email within 15 minutes.

Just had our Covid lateral flow test at Lloyds in Playa Maggorie Bologna for €15 a test.

The Scottish app does not let us do that as far as we can tell.  The only thing I could do is screen shot the front page and print that but then it does not say the source so unless the checker knows what the Scottish app looks like you are possibly still in trouble

We can download a pdf copy which I use.

The issue is the paper version only shows 2 codes, not everyone uses the app.  I always carry paper in case the app lets me down

I email it to myself and then print it.  To many times the app has let me down.

Okay, I've been monitoring this thread for a little while to keep up with what's been going on and I will try to provide timely/relevant updates as I have them.  Wife and I are boarding today for what was originally to be the first leg of our 69 day voyage around South America and Antarctica (awesome itinerary that I'm not seeing with anyone going forward the next couple years!).  Decided to keep this cruise anyways as we haven't been able to get out since May 2019 when we returned from Australia on Celebrity.

It's going to be interesting with supposedly only 200 or less of us on board and who knows which ports we'll actually be able to see, but it will definitely be nice being back on the water.  Just hoping that COVID monster doesn't raise its head for any of us or the crew during this adventure!

Probably won't be doing daily posts but will try to keep this updated as possible.

See you onboard.  We did Greece on the Quest in September with just over 200 and it was lovely.

  10. I haven't received the email to register and we board on Friday.   Not worried about registration as on our Greek cruise in September we had 2 queues at registration the completed and not completed.

Can't say I'm too impressed with Azamara so far, just had to call them for a 3rd time as no response either to emails or FB messenger. I am still unable to check in, I can log into my account but that's all.. it just displays an error page. They say they are aware there is an issue with check in for some bookings, and assured me I can turn up at Athens anytime from 1230-1830 without checking in-even though their paperwork says otherwise !  Anyone else having trouble?

We also had trouble checking in for the 18th.  Tried tab, phone and eventually succeeded on the laptop.  We have a check in of 2.30 - 3.00 which was the first available.   Must agree service onboard far surpasses on land.

  12. We are on the 18th September sailing.  Our TA got the guest ticket book for us, which has the luggage labels in.  However, we do not have a boarding time and haven't been able to complete the online check-in.  When I try now it also says Check-in closed.  Hopefully they are still trying to clear the bug in the system.
