  1. I second the above poster. :) I consider myself a fairly low maintenance hair person and I felt the hair dryers on our recent Magic cruise were fair at best. If you don't mind spending a few extra minutes getting the job done the hair dryer will suffice, but I found myself wishing I'd taken the trouble to pack my own.

  2. You're very welcome Mona K! :)

Apply it on board, either at guest services or at a kiosk
I forgot about the kiosks! They seem very quick and easy but since there was a bigger line for the kiosk than Guest Services I went there. lol!

Do you have to wait until your on the ship or can you call customer service prior to sailing and have it applied that way?
Hmmm, I'm not certain since I had mine applied onboard but you can use a gift card to pay for your cruise ticket so you probably can call Carnival and have it applied before you ever leave home - it would be worth checking into!
  3. Essentially, yes. Literally, no.

The only way you pay for things on the ship is with your sign & sail card. When you check in (either online or at the terminal) you choose whether your sign and sail card will be backed with cash or credit/debit card. They don't charge your card until a day or two after the cruise. So - if you want to 'pay for cocktails' with a gift card you just make a trip down to Guest Services and have them apply the balance of the gift card to your sign & sail account. They use those funds up first and charge whatever amount remains to your card (I've only done card, not cash - with cash you'd have to settle up with them before you left the ship :) ).

I had a gift card our last cruise - it's easy peasy to run down the second or third day when the line is short and get that applied. :)

  4. We just came back from our first cruise with the kids (Carnival Magic, 2/9/14) so maybe I can answer this one for you! :) We chose the Balmoral Beach Day Deluxe and 2 of our 3 kids were in the 5 & Under category. I didn't purchase tickets for them at all. I printed out the excursion description and highlighted the 'no ticket needed' section in case of any questions but there was no problem whatsoever. When we went to meet our excursion host at the pier the three of us who were paid for received orange plastic bracelets (those included pull-off tabs for 1 lunch and 1 drink) and the two free kids got green waterproof paper bracelets (no lunch, no drink). We bought 1 lunch for the 2 littles to share (which was pretty awful, BTW! lol!) and they each got their own drink. I think it was around $15 total for that. :)

  5. I think it is!

We have it for our upcoming cruise. I think it's worth it for the ability to have early access to my cabin and be able to put down my carry-ons and the carry-ons of my 3 littles who will be taking their first cruise. :) I also like the fact that our luggage will come sooner and I can get things settled right away and get on with my vacation.

The rest is just bonus and may or may not be useful. :)

  6. You can probably do it by calling. I can't imagine they wouldn't allow someone to buy something for friends that would enhance their cruise, while also enhancing Carnival's income. They will love FTTF, I have seen very few reports from anyone who has purchased it that it was not worth the money.

I tried recently. They wouldn't let me. I called twice and they would.not.budge. :(

    YMMV

  7. Thank you :). Appreciate the reply. BTW if you have used this feature do you find it is a benefit? Thanks again.

I haven't used it yet but I have purchased it for our upcoming cruise. It will be our children's first cruise and I think being able to go straight to our room (as opposed to needing to wait until 1:30) will definitely be a benefit. :D
