Is the room quiet or do you hear the Lido noise? I am booked in 9243 in September, hoping for no noise from the Lido. We got a good casino offer too!

Report on Serenity. I think it's 2 levels, correct? Any clamshells or just loungers and the couches under the canvas cover? Any loungers under cover or all out in the sun?

Our cabin is very close to yours. No noise from above at all. We always sleep with a white noise machine as well.

Serenity area is on two decks. I’ve only been on deck 12. All the loungers are in the sun. There are a handful of two person clam shells on the very front of the ship around the corner from the serenity area. In the area by the bar, there are regular chairs and also outdoor sectionals.

  2. Hi all!

Just thought I would share a couple things since I had so many questions answered on here prior to my cruise.

We are in an inside cabin on deck nine. It is literally literally the size of a shoebox, 😂lol. But honestly, it’s pretty livable. And the room sure gets dark at night…we’ve been sleeping later than normal! I haven’t sailed in an inside cabin since I was 18, (I’m 47 now) and I would do it again, especially at the super cheap last-minute Casino rate that we got.

Speaking of the casino, it was brutal in there last night. We play blackjack and we got wiped out pretty fast. But today is a new day! 🤑

The food. We are foodies. The decline in the quality of food in the dining room is noticeable, and that is putting it nicely. My husband got prime rib last night, and it was truly inedible. I got rack of lamb from the steakhouse selections. I ordered it medium rare. The first time it came out well done, the second time it came out literally baaing. It was raw. They took it off the bill. Crème brûlée awful, melting cake not melty but instead rather dense. A couple of items were actually pretty good. The crawfish pasta and the carpaccio, both off of the menu, I really enjoyed.

Steakhouse. Generally good but everything was underseasoned. Tuna tartare and crab risotto were standouts. Husbands NY strip was thin and sad, especially when paying a $49 cover charge. My filet and lobster was also very good.

We also hit up bonsai sushi yesterday. Yum! The sashimi was nice and fresh, and the shrimp tempura roll was delicious.

Hoping to get to Seafood Shack and Seaday brunch over the next few days.

Internet is generally good. Was able to make Skype calls and stream some shows. Side note.. it appears Hulu and Netflix are blocked.

Any questions, let me know. I’ll be back to share more later in the cruise. 😎

  3. Hi all,

We are on the Freedom this coming Monday, and I was curious if these prices are still true at the Seafood Shack.

    A few other questions.

Has anyone dined there on the Freedom recently? If so,  you know if the oysters are gulf oysters, or they’re cold water oysters? Hoping for the latter.

Is the quantity of lobster on the lobster BLTs equally as sparse as the lobster rolls?

What had everyone enjoyed on the Freedom at the Seafood Shack recently?

    Thanks for any help! ☺️

Hi all.  I keep seeing these “Last minute casino offers” pop up. They are offering an inside for $50 pp plus taxes and port fees, and giving a $100 Ob credit. But boy, they go in a matter of minutes. You have to be quick!!

A question. Many of these offers are insides with an upper and lower birth. Not our preferred way to travel. Has anyone gotten one of these offers and been given something better?

In case anyone is curious. I had been playing with booking one of these rooms for days. A few different sailings. It kept popping up and going away online. So I called the Casino line, and they were able to book me. No problem. Even though it was not available online at that moment. It was an upper and lower guarantee, though. But the agent was nice to put in the notes that we really prefer a regular inside cabin if possible. The next morning, we had a cabin assignment, and it was a Regular inside cabin on deck nine. Miracles do happen! Lol

  5. My husband and I really enjoy the steakhouse, but these 2 ships don't have one. Has anyone had the Steakhouse Selections on either of these ships, and if so, how was the quality of the steak/lamb/lobster? Just wondering if the quality is the same on ships that don’t have an actually steakhouse.

    Thank you!

  7. Hi all!  We are cruising on the Regal

Out of Galveston on November 10th. In checking pricing today, I noticed that our Premium Aft facing balcony had a price drop. And that mini suites dropped as well.

My question, and I know it’s personal preference, but I’m having a hard time making up my mind. Would you take the mini suite over the premium aft balcony for the extra space. Or would you keep the aft balcony and smaller room for those wake views. FYI, mini suite is $160 more than the premium aft balcony.

    Thanks! 😎

  8. Hi all - No flames please. Our teen girls love cruising, but they also love playing a few video games before bed (and we love saving a bit of money at the arcade) ;)

If there is anyone onboard, can you possibly take a photo of the connectors on the back of the TV so we know what cables we need to bring?

Or, anyone that has recently cruised on Glory - do you know if the TV's have an HDMI input?

    Would really appreciate it!

    TIA!

    Kristen :)

  9. I'm so enjoying reading this, thank you! We are on Regal on 11/15 and counting down the days. If you are at the Ocean Terrace Seafood Bar, can you see if they have oysters on the half shell? Last year they had them the first and second day, but not for the remainder of the cruise. That's our fave so hoping they will be more available this time around.

    Have so much fun! :)

  10. We are big seafood lovers too and we were so excited to hear about this venue on this class of ships! Honestly we were pretty impressed with the quality of oysters when we were on the Regal last year...and we are picky! They just ran out so quickly.. The Ahi tuna poke and crab margarita were available all week however and were awesome! But we just love oysters! So hoping they will be more readily available this time around. Would love to hear your experience when you disembark next week...thank you! :)

  11. We have always loved the Sanctuary. We usually cruise once a year and have reserved the full week on many occasions. However, we cruised on the Regal last year and bought for the full week. We are sun people and unlike other Sanctuary's on the Crown, Emerald, Caribbean etc.....everyday we were moving our chairs in every direction to be in the sun. The layout is a bit different on Royal class ships. A few times, we actually left and sat elsewhere because of this. I will say the staff is super pampering and so nice but if you are a sun lover, I would steer away on Royal/Regal. We are on the Regal next month because we loved the ship so much, but we will not be doing the Sanctuary this time around.

    Have fun! :)

  12. Hi all - sailing on the Regal next month and was curious if the Ocean Terrace Seafood Bar is still serving oysters on the half shell. This was one of our favorite venues when we sailed last year. Only bummer was that they didn't have many oysters and they were sold out for the cruise on day 2. Wondering if that has changed....

    Thanks!

    Kristen

  13. The Crown Grill is our favorite place to eat dinner on the Regal by a long shot. Highlights for us include the black and blue onion soup, mussel pot, Caesar salad (they do it even though it's not on the menu). For entrees the Lamb, filet, and NY strip are all excellent. And the lobster tails of course. And the molten chocolate dessert is also to die for.

However I have to say that our favorite addition to the Royal/Regal ships is the Ocean Terrace Seafood Bar. We often stop by before dinner for an appetizer and it's wonderful. The Ahi Tuna Poke, Crab Margarita, and Oysters are awesome. And it's ala carte pricing, so you can order just a small bite for a small price. It's totally worth every penny. I really wish the Crown Grill would up the quality of their appetizers. Luckily you can be creative because they allow you to order whatever you want. So for instance we usually share a Mussel Pot for an app.

    Enjoy!

  14. You can pretty much order whatever the heck you want. We're not really fond of the app offerings at the CG, so we will often order the Mussel Pot or the Shrimp entree as an app.The onion soup is delicious and they can do caesar salad (with anchovies as we like it) by request. You can get lobster tails with anything you want.

As for the cuts of meat, I will say that we are Steakhouse snobs at home, and my husband and I both love the CG filet and the New York Strip. Haven't tried the Ribeye. Husband did not like the Porterhouse. It was big, but it it wasn't very thick. The Rack of Lamb is wonderful too.

We probably eat at the CG 4-5 times on a 7 day cruise, so needless to say, we enjoy it. :D

  15. My upcoming Regal cruise dropped by quite a bit after final payment. These prices, however, were for "new bookings only". The mini suites were cheaper than the deluxe balcony that I had booked, by several hundred dollars per person. I managed to get a $200 OBC and an upgrade to a mini. It really does matter who you get on the phone. I would suggest calling back....

  16. I have not seen the $9 lobster in awhile.

We love Crown Grill and dine there several times each time we cruise. My only complaint is that we feel the appetizer selection is pretty poor. On RCCL you can get oysters and tuna tartar in their steakhouse. While we are super excited about the addition of the Ocean Terrace on Royal/Regal, it would be nice if some of these seafood items (like oysters or tuna) would be included at the Crown Grill. Those are the kind of apps that we really enjoy when dining at a Steakhouse, whether on land or at sea!

    Just my opinion....
