If leaving on a cruise in January of 2018, when will I be able to make specialty dining reservations online?
And when is the best time to do it, a month before? closer to the sail date?

Thanks, good idea

Thanks for restoring my faith in the knowledgeable cruisers who post on this site

You don't have to be like that. I said I haven't been on the site in several years, I had a post with
a typo in the title and couldn't figure out how to erase it. I accidentally posted the corrected version , too,
I now remember there are occasional "snarky" people on this site,

Are there complimentary saunas on the Anthem ? If so, where are they, and are they large enough so that they are not overly crowded ?

Thank you...I'll try that

I am a recently widowed single man who hasn't cruised on RCL in several years. I booked a 12 day cruise
on the Anthem for January, 2018. I would love to hear some first hand tips on dining options, reservation procedures and anything else you think would help me enjoy my cruise. I will admit I am a little reticent about
the "single" thing, having always cruised with my wife in the past. I am a Diamond status member, and have booked a Balcony Guarantee cabin. I'm very grateful for any advise....Gary

I remember seeing a program on the Travel Channel about
cruise ship management . The bar manager said that specials
are dependent on the recent profit/losses for liquor. If they
need to move more product to get a better profit margin, they
will offer 2/1 specials, and, it seems, beer buckets and bags.
This seems to be the case here. We were on the Explorer in October,
and there were no beer specials at all........no bucket discount, no
bags. But others have stated that the Explorer did have both. I guess
we were unlucky enough to sail when the liquor department was in the
black and the manager felt little pressure to increase sales. It might also
depend on how "full" the ship is. The lower the occupancy, the more important it is to maximize sales.

hanging closet (shoe)bag (with many pockets that save space in bath)
duct tape
benedril
aloe
batteries (for camera etc)
phone charger
suntan lotion
antibiotic cream
binoculars
collapsable umbrella
bandaids
advil or aleve
small battery operated alarm clock
splenda
breathe right strips
ipod w/ extra earphones
goggles or earplugs for swimming
waterproof case for holding valuables while swimming (test it out first)
case of water (checked with luggage)
While all of these things are available onboard or in port, they are incredibly
expensive (ie. In Bermuda...4 AA batteries $10

A curious and perhaps silly question.......but, those of you who order
two entrees, do you order them both at the same time......or wait til
you finish the first? I 'm curious about the proper etiquette of this.

Still looking for a hotel that provides parking and shuttle to Cape Liberty. Any suggestions and or where have you stayed.
We stayed at the Hampton Inn and Suites on Staten Island when we left
from Port Liberty. The room rate was very reasonable (somewhere around
($115), and with one night's stay you can park the car for the length of the
cruise. In our case , it was 12 days. They had a very nice buffet , hot breakfast, and a free shuttle to and from the port. Just be sure to make
a reservation for the shuttle as soon as you arrive at the hotel. The
shuttle is shared with the Hilton Garden Inn (same owners). The Hampton
was less expensive and had a better breakfast.

Has anyone been to the Diamond Lounge on the newly refurbished
Grandeur of the Seas. I was hoping you could give some insight into
how it looked, what amenities they had, and your overall impressions
compared to other ships. thanks in advance

Do you need the promo code for anything? Or are the booklets
automatically delivered to your room?

Hmmm...what ship was this? We certainly didn't encounter this at Tuscan on Eclipse. Foods was overall very good, I wouldn't have minded a little heat as I think most food on this cruise was on the milder side.
I echo these sentiments. We went to the Tuscan on the Silhouette, and I
(we) were very happy with our meal. I didn't notice any "heavy handed"
spicing, and the filet mignon was excellent

There are constant problems with the Celebrity website.....not being able
to access MyCelebrity is commonplace.
A few Anthem questions...Diamond member

I haven't cruised in six years and things have changed. I have a few questions
Is there a special room for Diamond members for Breakfast. If so , where is it ?
Is it true that you now have to pay for hot breakfast by room service?
Do you still get discounts for things like internet packages, spa packages, excursions etc ?
what is the difference between the two internet packages?
