Is there any update on this zip line.  We will be here in Jan 2023.  Is this opened for walk in and book independently?  At one time, we had to book through the ship.  Thanks

I’m thinking about doing the same thing. My girls and I did this zipline years ago while my husband stayed at the beach. We were easily able to meet up afterwards. I would love any information since we will be there in July 2023.

  2. I just called the NCL air number because I have not received my flight information and we are 45 days out from sailing. They said that currently they are booking flights closer to the 30 day out mark. I also opted for that one day deviation because we’re flying from the East Coast to Honolulu and I didn’t want to risk it. That $25 per person was also a nice little thank you for sure.

Thanks for all the insights about the cruise! I'm curious on the debarkation process.. The NCL website shows the POA arrives in port at 7AM but also states the debarkation process usually doesn't start until two hours after arriving at port.

Do you know what time the people that walked off the ship (skipped NCL handling their baggage) were able to disembark? I'm trying to get a Taxi to the airport ASAP in the morning prior to proceeding to Pearl Harbor.

Yes I am interested in this as well. We got reservations for Pearl Harbor for 10:00 am. I’m hoping we have time to drop off luggage somewhere. I also saw on the government website that they have a bag storage place at Pearl Harbor. Anyone have experience with that?

I was hoping for a late flight home (as in 6PM or later) and instead we leave Hawaii at 3:00PM. We now have to cancel our Shore Excursion we booked that went to Pearl Harbor. NCL will not change the flights.

Oh man! Sorry to hear. Still waiting for flight info. I’m going to try and book the earliest Pearl Harbor tour through the National park site tomorrow. Even if we get an early flight home like you did, hopefully that will give us a couple of hours to see some of the memorial.

You should be getting your flights in a week or so.  We were told 35 to 45 days out and got them somewhere around 48 days.  We are flying home to the East Coast and our flights are true Red Eyes, going out between 8:30-9P.  I wouldn’t be surprised if yours are similar.  It DOES give us a day of touring though.

Thank you. That’s what I figured would be the case which is fine with me. Then we could enjoy the day in Honolulu and hopefully sleep on the way home. I’ve been checking out google flights to see what the possibilities are. Let’s see which one we get. We may wind up booking a tour through NCL anyway because of the luggage situation. I wouldn’t know what else to do with them while we take a taxi/Uber to Pearl Harbor.

That hasn't been my experience so far -- but I have to admit I've only eaten at the Aloha Cafe and Cadillac Diner so far. I'm testing out the Skyline Restaurant in the coming days.

Were you able to book reservations for dinner before the cruise? We have dining reservations (for Liberty and Skyline) made for each night and are hoping they don't cancel them. I've heard the Moderna and Teppanyaki restaurants are not open yet.

Thanks for posting this and keep the updates coming! My wife and I will be on the May 28th sailing.  I'm curious how long they will keep capacity at 50%...

I have already run into a few shore excursions that we were interested in being sold out prior to me booking. We also booked our Airfare through NCL but have still not received any flight details.

Yes, we sail on June 4th and are anxiously awaiting our flights booked through NCL. I guess if you haven't received yours yet, I won't get mine soon either. We are hoping to go to Pearl Harbor on debarkation day. This Saturday is the first day we can book on the national parks site, so we'll go ahead and book a morning time and hope our flight home allows us time to do so.

Our cruise is on April 9th on the Pride of America. We are using NCL air. Our flight gets in at 3:50 P.M. Our cruise leaves at 7:00 P.M. I know that's cutting it close but NCL made the reservations. With cutting it that close, I worry about giving our luggage to a porter at the pier. Can we just carry it on ourselves and have it go through the xray machine there?

I hope you arrived safely and on time for your cruise today. We are booked for the June 4th on the POA and decided to fly in on the 3rd from the east coast. We did NCL air as well and I was too nervous to chance getting in so close to sailing.

We are on the April 23rd sailing and look forward to reading your answers!  Our question is pertaining to tours…our snorkel cruise in Maui is cancelled.  Let us know what IS available on Maui.  It’s overnight there.  Thanks in advance and “Aloha!”

Yes thank you so much for doing this. I am also curious about excursions. We sail on the POA on June 4 and have booked a couple of excursions on our own. We haven’t booked anything for Maui and Kona. I was wondering if while in port there are Uber/Lyft and private tour operators waiting to provide transport or excursions to cruise guests.

I think there was when we were on it in 2016.  We usually look forward to formal nights especially since they are getting so rare now on cruise ships...so sad!

Thanks for responding. We really enjoy the formal nights too. I found someone who posted the dailies for a 2019 sailing of POA. It did show a formal night on Monday, so I hope they still do it. I’m looking forward to hearing about the ship when it starts sailing in April. It has been pushed back several times.
