  1. Anyone do a 1 week cruise on Regal or Royal around spring break time this year? We have sailed the Royal thee times over Xmas (10 day voyages) and we love that there are not tons and tons of little kids. Lots of tweens and teens but small amount of under 10 crowd. Wondering if spring break is same or different? Looking to book 3/24/19 on Regal. We were on Harmony this year for spring break and it was too many little ones...

  2. Past three years my family did a 10 day cruise on Royal Princess which we loved. Unfortunately no 10 days on either Royal or Regal being offered in December 2018. So we are debating between Island Princess through Panama Canal or Celebrity Silhouette Southern Caribbean. We have cruises RCCL and NCL in addition to Princess. Never been on Celebrity.

Would love feedback on above ships. Will Island Princess be adjustment from Royal? How is Celebrity compared to Princess? Thank you!!

  3. Third year in a row on 10 day Royal Princess cruise. Overall a great time and still a beautiful ship. Definitely some changes though...

No gelato for coffee card punches. That was a bummer.

Pizza by pool deck definitely not as good as used to be. Still better than most other cruise lines.

Junior Chef a disappointment for my kids this year. Chef didn’t let kids do ANYTHING but put sprinkles on and instead Chef did mostly everything himself. Kinda silly.

Ports all great. Got a pool cabana in Amber Cove, ziplining in Antigua, great snorkeling in Martinique, train ride in St. Kitts, rented some jet skiis in St. Thomas and a catamaran in Barbados.

Only 1 day of pub lunch now instead of every sea day. That stunk.

I would say biggest disappointment overall was the entertainment. Past 2 years was GREAT and this year was just BAD. Really bad with exception of great trio in the Wheelhouse Bar. No magicians or fun acts in the Piazza like previous years. Same band Topaz all cruise that played same playlist multiple times! Production shows were average. Voice of the Ocean is old. Usually for this cruise there is just a ton to choose from and there just was nothing. Could not get over the huge and very noticeable drop in the entertainment...

Still had a great time, after all its vacation and the weather was gorgeous!! But having done this cruise twice before you could definitely see the changes. Next year no 10 day options on either Regal or Royal over holidays, only 7 days. So guess we will look at other options.

  4. Yeah I would say so. Making an 8:30 flight is unlikely. The good thing is that when airlines change your flight by 2+ hours, they’ll let you change the flight for free, which means you can move to a later (and probably more expensive flight than the one you paid for), for free. Call them and make the change before everyone else does and there are no seats left.

Thank you!! Just called AA and they moved us to 12:30 pm flight out of Miami. Much better!!!

  5. So for the past two weeks or so it appears some of the above are available for booking. I say some because it does not appear they are all loaded for each port. For example, Amber Cove has only 1 excursion option available.

Is it common for Princess to gradually load these? I could see how they could be loaded over a couple of days but I find it odd that its been over 2 weeks and nothing else is updated....

  6. So I know this was discussed at some point but does anyone have official info on above? I just logged in to my cruise for December and, although its super early, some of the excursions are available for booking but you must pay, you cannot reserve. I have been on this same cruise for past 2 years and this is first time I have ever been asked to pre-pay?? Am wondering if it will switch over at some point given not all excursions are loaded etc. Otherwise this is a complete bummer if this is new policy...
