Hi
OP here. Checked again with my TA and she called RC. In typical RC fashion, the response was different -- this change is for GS and up bookings.
Good news. End of dilemma

OP here
Thank you all for your info. I have contacted my TA to get more clarity on the subject.
Molly361, this kind of sounds like what my agent was talking about.
I'll post again when I find out more.

i just got this from my agent --
I wanted to let you know though that Royal Caribbean told me starting May 21, 2017 they will start imposing a $100 per person change fee if you change bookings made onboard.
So I suggest us looking for something that you know you would want to take before May 21st.
Not happy, looks like no more on board booking for us.

And remember the Diamond discount for the bag of laundry is per C&A member, not cabin. That way if both of you are Diamond, you can each have a bag per cruise.

Betsy and Bill,
We don't have any precruise land trip planned. Here is the story of our Alaska cruise-
We are west coasters and have been on I think 3 Alaskan cruises. Years ago on a cruise we met our cruise friends from Pennsylvania and have enjoyed cruising with them all over the world. They have not been to Alaska, so here we are. The 4 of us are diamond plus, on our first choice cruise line, Royal Carribean, although we are becoming disenchanted with their pricing.
The big news with RC is they are finally back on the west coast with the Jewel of the Sea, pre Alaska up the coast, The Alaska season and back down the coast in September. We really wanted to book the last Jewel Alaska cruise and B2B down the coast. NOT POSSIBLE because of the Passenger Act. So we are on the Coral Princess, which is fine -its our #2 cruiseline choice, finishing on the 16th. We are hitting the road early on the 16th to Seattle (hubby was born and raised there), see what we can, spend the night and head back to Vancouver, sightsee like crazy and be on the Jewel on the 18th, finishing in LA on the 26th, our home port.
For the Coral ports, I have a big "to decide and do" list. Our friends are counting on us to be tour guides, which is fine. The one thing that is new for us the departure at Whittier. I am seriously looking at the glacier tour in Whitter. Have you looked at that? We are going to get to Anchorage on the 8th. For the other ports, it's going to be the standard sights, Skagway WP railway, Juneau Mendenhall Glacier and Ketchican tour. We are semi on a budget and since we are familiar with the ports, I don't have a problem booking privately.

Hi all,
We are on this cruise also. Booked in Sept 2014 as balcony BB guarantee. All balconies and suites are basically sold out. I know we will get at least a BB balcony but it is hard to wait, maybe until a day or so before boarding, to see what our cabin assignment will be, according to other Princess cruisers. I know this is what I signed up for when I booked, but we do not cruise Princess often (but will be planning more) and the other line we travel with doesn't handle guarantees in this way.
I guess I will take a deep breath and prepare anxiously for this great cruise

Hi,
We are on the Navigator of the Seas in Sept. and am looking forward to our overnight already booked with Ramses. I have a question for any previous RCCL cruises that my TA brought up. I have read this entire 7 page post and didn't see the following addressed:
How are the Egyptian visas handled on board ship (if they are taken care of on the ship)?
Is there a line for the stamp the morning we dock or is it handled some other way? How much was it? Could it be put on your onboard account or only cash, right then?
Thanks for your replies --

Hello,
I am hoping to get some advice/opinions regarding a trip we are investigating. We have been to Great Britain several times, but not this itinerary.
We will be in Liverpool for a week and are trying to figure out if we can get to Southampton the same day for a cruise. We can leave Liverpool very early in the day and we know that we would need to be at the port by mid afternoon. It would be a Sunday, if it makes a difference. Train, car, or ??
Thanks,
Chesterbid
