  1. Are obstructed view balconies on Ovation really obstructed or just thevmore forward balconies that are somewhat enclosed? We had one of these on Anthem and found it to be perfect...wondering if there are truly obstructed balconies on Ovation. We are booked in a balcony guarantee. Thanks in advance
  2. We did Norway in an inside cabin last year and would get up early and be out on the decks all the time. While it might have been nice to have a balcony, you don't see anything when you are asleep, in a show, at dinner unless near a window, etc. We didn't miss anything. Save the $
  3. On Joy and I believe we had it on Bliss...the casino had an enclosed smoking area and the open areas of the casino were non-smoking.
  4. There were 4 of us to get on the Breakaway a couple weeks ago...we booked an UberXL for about $40 total including tip and had a great driver. On the way back to the airport, we use MJS transportation for $15/pp...they always use Mercedes transportation buses. :)
  5. I brought flowers on board in Miami for our eastern caribbean cruise earlier this month. You just can't take them off the ship. 😉
  6. Hi Peggy, I have never been on Hurtigruten however my husband and I did take a cruise to Norway on Norwegian Cruise Lines last year. I agree with the North Cape...it is a must see. We booked our own excursion with Blue Puffin... https://www.blue-puffin.com/en/ Monika is absolutely amazing, our tour was reasonably priced and I can tell you from talking to others on our cruise ship, we got the most authentic experience by far, and also got to the North Cape (Nord Kapp). Lori
  7. We booked the Ovation next year in May...Hawaii to Vancouver. Looking forward to the review although we were on Anthem a couple years ago so same floor plan. Hoping the service and entertainment are better.
  8. Just off Breakaway... CD was Paquito...by far the worst NCL CD I have ever experienced...his calling is being a dance club DJ...not a CD...just MHO
  9. They never did other than ghery were still "printing"
  10. On Joy. You can use SDP in a ocean blue but they charge an additional $10pp plus I think a mandatory 20% tip.
  11. We just got off the Joy and they told us in La Cucina that it was 1 app, 1 dessert and 1 entree of up to $25/pp when using our Platinum voucher. I don't know if the same applies if you are using the UDP.
  12. We always do sail away (we're currently Platinum) and always have great luck...on the Joy, we were Deck 10 mid-ish port side. Close to the elevators but not right at the entry to the hallway. On the Bliss, we got a bump out balcony on 12 so we had a huge balcony! We're not huge drinkers and could care less about the beverage package, internet (we go on vacation to get away from work emails) or specialty dining (we get 2 dinners and a bottle of wine free every time anyway).
  13. The 2nd sea day now has San Juan, PR...any ideas on excursions? Nothing on the NCL website yet and it's been ages since I've been in San Juan. I think we're there 4pm - midnight. Thanks in advance everyone!
  14. OMG! seriously? I love love love this ship...If I could cruise it every time we are on NCL, I would (that or the Jade). I have cruised her twice...once in a solo cabin, once in a balcony. Both times...amazing! Service, food, layout was great! It never seemed crowded, the entertainment was fantastic! and we loved the jazz club, howl at the moon and the entertainers on board. As for Prague, if you have never been...be prepared to be amazed...it is one of my favorite places on the planet!
  15. As one one of the ones in that line...it was because my tag and boarding pass showed up about 6pm and my husband's where nowhere to be found. We were on the same form, same confirmation number, etc. but they printed them separately. Unless you waited in that horrible line, who knows when/if we would have ever seen my husband's boarding pass. We wanted to make sure our bags were together and there would have been no reason to check one and not the other.
