Been on the Freedom a bunch of times, but not in the last few years, and after being on a Celebrity ship (reflection) last year i have some questions. most of the 28 of us are buying the booze package, last year after about 1am, you could not find any food or liquor ANYWHERE except for room service, and the liquor in room service isn't included. Does the Cafe Promenade still have the small sandwiches and an assortment of sweet all night long? and I remember being able to get soda there, can you also get drinks and beer? if I remember correctly, Sorento's stayed open until 2 am or so, still the same? We are Diamond members, Where is the Diamond Lounge, still have that too?
any other tidbits or advise would be appreciated.

Hi fellow CC'rs....Just off the January 5 Western sailing on the Freedom of the Seas...Visited Jamaica, Haiti, Grand Cayman and Cozumel. Formal nights were day 2 and 5. No escargot available. Lobster(fishermans plate) also on day 5. Mike Hunnerup is the cruise director and did a really good job.
Any questions I will do my best to answer.
Hi there, please tell me they've changed the 2 main shows, once upon a time and marquee? they are both great shows but they have been the same two shows since 2006, we've been on the ship 6 times and number 7 is feb 2nd, was hoping that richard spacey was the CD, but heard good things about mike H.
any clue who was the entertainment in the bull and the bear bar?
Do they still do the win a cruise bingo?

You're saying that you left your friends behind so you could board early??? I'm a Diamond member too but I would NEVER abandon my traveling companions to take advantage of a perk! Sorry but this shows lack of courtesy to my so called friends.
We didn't abandon our friends, In my case we all arrived from different shuttles and times, so, yes we boarded without them....So maybe get your facts straight before blasting someone.

It gets even better when youre D+!!!!!
Did you know you could have gotten your friends on the ship with you too...All in your party can take advantage of your pre-boarding perks![/quote
I thought that i had read that on here, So I asked, they said no

Don't forget about that nice balcony discount!
Well, we already get a HUGE discount for Travel agents, $280 pp for an inside cabin, $350 for an outside cabin and $525 for a Balcony Cabin on a 7 day cruise for being a travel agent

So – were you taken to a shorter terminal line prior even walking in the terminal and waiting in the ling line for the security areas? That would be GREAT!
Thanks, M
Yes, that was the short line, maybe 5 people waiting to go thru security, and tehn again upstairs checking in

Just off the Freedom of the Seas as Diamond members for the 1st time. Wow, they have some really nice perks for Diamond Members. It started off in line outside the long terminal line, a worker said to have your set sail pass and passports in hand, I raised mine up and he said, Oh, diamond members go thru the center door, (only about 5 people in line, compared to the well over a 100) went right thru security, went upstairs to get in line to check in, another long line, but there was a Diamond line, again, only 1 in front of us, then after we got our sea pass card, most people had to sit and wait to board, not us, right on the ship, we were having a drink at the sky bar while our friends were sitting waiting to board, we were onboard about 45 minutes before our Gold friends.
Everynight between 5:30 and 8:30, they had a diamond lounge up in the Viking Crown Lounge that had appetizers and free drinks. Breakfast every morning from 6-9ish, We had our own area in the dining room deck 5 on disembarkation day with food.drinks,
They also had a Diamond Breakfast invite one day (didn'y attend that one)
and a welcome back diamond members party
They really treat the Diamond members really nice.

Havent been to key west in a couple years now, but PEPE'S is great, looks like a dive from the outside, but they have the best home cooked food, a lot of the locals go there, on thursdays they have "thanksgiving" dinner, Turkey with everything you can imagine, a different special everyday, 7 Fish is wonderful, Camilles on duval is great for breakfast, LA trattora (italian), Blue heaven is great too, roosters running all over the grounds. these are more the out of the way places but by no means hard to get too, they get more of the locals than tourist at these places, dont forget margaritaville's, gotta have a cheeseburger in paradise, Mango's on Duval has the best Key Lime pie, Stay clear of Crabby Dicks, except for maybe drinks, nice atmosphere, but the food is crappy, key lime pie shouldn't be green...
