I looked back on my visa, that question did not seem to exist at that time.

Does anyone know if Vietnam visas are even checked for at the Singapore terminal before boarding??
In my experience, when you check in at the terminal before boarding your cruise, you need all your required visa and documents. They can refuse your boarding if they are not in order.

This is from my previous post in this same thread.
This is the information. Hope it helps.
Tourism
Allowed to entry through checkpoint: Hon Gai Seaport (Hanoi, Ha Long Bay)
Exit through checkpoint: Vung Tau Seaport (Ho Chi Minh, Phu My)
Intended date of entry: date when your cruise is in Vietnam .
Intended temporary residential address in Viet Nam:
Celebrity Solstice - 6A Lê Thánh Tông, Hồng Gai, Thành phố Hạ Long, Quảng Ninh 01106, Vietnam
City/Province: Quang Ninh
Some had simply put down Solstice Cruise ship and it was accepted.

Finally got an answer from Celebrity cruise call center after many calls... they said they can process the Vietnam Visa on board and it will $100USD per person.Wow, highway robbery? Here in Ontario, I know a travel agent who can apply on behalf of you and she charges around CAD50.00 pp.

My travel agent helped by getting the information from Celebrity, but she said she had to wait on the phone for a long time. The cruiseline should be better than this.

Yes - I hope they can make the process easier considering the issues it can cause if done incorrectly. I was worried after submitting that ours would be denied due to lack of seaport address. Glad it went through but lack of clear direction is frustrating. (never had a good breastroke so I guess that makes me FLYswimmer)
Haha yes for both, the vietnam visa and swimming fly. The good news is that they dont' charge you if the visa is denied. With regards to swimming IM? I used to be a breaststroker but after 2 years not swimming due to the pandemic, then swam with a team that only swim long distance freestyle, my breaststroke is non existent now. Trying to keep the rhythm back...darn difficult.

Received our evisas back - we used "Celebrity Solstice Cruise Ship" as our local address and selected the correct province. Everything went through fine. One interesting thing is that our evisa does not list the port of entry. It looks like they have simplified the evisa some compared to samples I have found on line.
My friend filled in Solstice Cruise ship as local address and his evisa was denied. They wanted the seaport address. I wish they will and should make it easier for cruise passengers.
-
That you can look up the seaport address from the internet. You should be able to find that. Good luck.

Actually we managed to apply online successfully. Just make sure you get the correct information of the Seaport address and it will be fine. Thanks for letting me know.

If we wish to venture out to see the Grandma and Grandpa rocks, are taxi easy to get? We have a group of 20, will be be better to hire a bus?
Also, we are debating whether to pay USD 30.00pp for the tour bus to ride into the port at Chan My to pick us up, or simply walk the 600 m. Can anyone shed some light please?? Thanks.

Good Afternoon from Germany
I cannot confirm if that is still the case but read about it as well and decided to book a pickup myself to be on the safe side.
I am trying to arrange a private hired car, but there are so many conflicting information on the web. Some mentioned that one way from Port to Sanutuary of Truth is only USD 20.00 for a taxi, while the private company quoted me USD 190.00 for 6-8, but wait for us at the site. Also, they said when we are going to be at Laem Chabang, there is a festival, so prices are higher as well. How is your experience with having to pre book a car? Thanks.
-
Hello there,
I read from the forum that the taxis that passengers can hire at the cruise port are cartel controlled and that they asked for an exuberant price. It sounds like it is very difficult for passenger to hire a regular taxi. Is that still true in Laem Chabang? I would really appreciate if someone can respond to this question so that if I need to plan and hire a private car, I can. Thank you in advance.

Oh my goodness! How confusing is that?

Thanks so much for your information!!!

We also enter another problem. They need an address for when we are visiting Vietnam. We put down our cruise ship " Celebrity Soltice " and the application was turned down due to that. What address did you put down if cruising for the evisa? Thanks.

Hi Moonraker and Teabag, thanks for your replies. I am taking my cycling pants with me. Without them, it is too painful to spin.
-
I am trying to get information as to whether there is spinning in both the Constellatio Easternn Mediterranean sailing, as well as on the Millennium 12 nights Indonesia/Malaysia sailing. I hope someone out there had been to these 2 sailings and can give me some information. I am debating whether to pack my cycling pants.
Thanks.:)

We just came back from a cruise stopping at Koper. Instead of paying huge amount of shore excursion money for Lake Bled or Ljubljana, we chose to rent a car and went to Skojcan caves. It is an UNESCO site and due to the fact that people can only reach the site by car, it is relatively quiet. The caves were very impressive!!! The driving was easy, and that tours in both English and other languages ( German/French etc) were run every hour. You need to be fairly fit to walk the 90 minutes and the 500 steps inside the caves. It was definitely worth while to check this out.

With my experience, in every port, the official simply look and/or collect a photocopy of the visa.
