So i did not, i was planning on leaving tomorrow morning. But the minute i got the email i searched to book another cruise leaving Saturday out of Miami....I booked the Symphony of the seas leaving Saturday the 1st. I usually only sail NCL but did not want to sail the Sun or the Sky..., First time on a megaship and we shall see....When life gives you lemons, make lemonade...

We were cancelled on the getaway too. We are currently in Kissimmee, thinking of booking a cruise out if Miami on the sky.    Anyone know what the drive is like to Miami right now?

    can’t find any information.

thanks would appreciate any driving info.

There use to be (2019) the sundeck forward, lmited area for smoking.  hmm, guess it is gone.  would check NCL website, under ships for where smoking is allowed.

    Thanks pacific,

the website still says smoking on the breakaway class on the haven sundeck forward…….but not sure if it’s been updated.

  3. We were there in November, had a wonderful time.  The food and drink was great.

the sun was hot, but pool was refreshing, there was a lot of sea weed, but they did a great job combing it off the beach.

i had the best 25,00 massage.   Can’t wait to go back.

  4. We usually pick pick our cruises by itinerary first then ship second.

have cruised from Miami and port canavral several times, usually 3times a year with back to backs.i love Miami but the hotels are so expensive for a nice one.

as a senior I find port canavral an easier port.   We use go port canavral and book a hotel with airport pick up and cruise shuttle, easy peasy.    No need to find Uber or taxis.

we just went out of port canavral for a short 5 day on the sun, had never been on such a small ship, but it was great, easy to navigate.

i am really stressed about our next one through San Juan with all the troubles with traffic and docking at the port.   Wish it was as easy as goport canavral.

YES!! Change your flight if you can. The port in San Juan is a mess. We were on the Freedom for the last two weeks and experienced the mess getting in and out of the port. We disembarked at 8:50 am, ordered an Uber. The Uber app indicated a 4 minute wait. It took 40 minutes to arrive due to traffic.  Them

we were stuck in the parking lot trying to leave the port.  We finally left the port at noon!!! Our flight was at 235 and between the security line, using Tsa precheck we made it to our gate 5 minutes prior to boarding.  So learn a lesson from me,  if you are keeping your 125 flight do the self assist disembarkation and be in the very first group off the ship and take a taxi. Good luck and have fun!

I was able to change my flight to the next day, even got a credit,(southwest)

and was able to use my free room, so we will be spending another day in San Juan .

dont want to stress out about making a flight.

    thanks sandy

  6. My husband used to take a full set, not worth the aggravation of worrying about where to put them, theft etc.  the cruise ship room is so small even with a suite.

he now carries a small golf travel bag with about 6 clubs.  Bought at golf shop.  So much easier, and does the trick.

he golfs in Florida and whatever  port he can.
    loves golf.

We had a 1:30 to Philly and were off the ship at 10:30am ... I think like most this was chosen for the itinerary - if it wasnt for that I wouldnt touch the Epic as its so badly designed.

Have to add though I saw none of this rampant illness - nor did any other pax  we talked to ever bring it up... Quite a few smokers coughs around as usual - though we never actually used the buffet (even thats bad on the epic its the buffet designed in hell).. Everyone we talked to fully enjoyed everything and took the epics quirks in there stride (ie they knew  what she was before they even got on - common conversation at BArcelona in the queue was "thought I would never get back on this ship again if it wasnt for the itinerary" ..  Not arguing a point just trying to add  a little balance..  I'll post the vid and pics later that show the berth issue.. But back to the quoted poster - as long as NCL and the Epic dont try to berth in that particular spot again there should be no issue.

Thank you all for the responses

  8. Just off the Sun, it’s a small ship but has the best smoking area of all the ships.

in front of Champs bar there were numerous tables and chairs with umbrellas and ashtrays.   Because it was on the top in the open, it was not smoky and did not affect non smokers.   I didn’t feel like a lepar in a glass box.   It was elevator straight up to 12 floor.  And bar service was wonderful, a few bartenders from the getaway were there and handed me my drink straight away.
    The casino was all smoking.
    we had a wonderful time.
