To the OP: Is there some specific reason someone who has one prior post 4 years ago and shows no evidence of having ever booking or taking a HAL cruise is posting this and only on this forum?

Apple hoarding by Chinese tourists (aka, scalpers) was quite a widespread phenomena back a few months ago, even saw it myself locally here in DC. In fact many stores have put limits on the # of iPhones you can purchase in one day due to this black market stuff.

Good job Ernie! The styling of the ship reminds me of the Eurodam, a bit more "up to date" than some previous ships. Agree with you about the dining room, looks nice but isn't evoking Manhattan by any means, unless we're talking Chinatown!

First cruise...the lovely Konstantine Simonov, late December 1994 from Helsinki to St Petersburg. You know you're gonna have a good time on a ship with the hammer and sickle on it! lol... Almost everything about it was horrible! The food, the sheets and towels, the surly staff, etc., but St Petersburg was magical and we were back 8 months later on the same ship in August. When the other Americans on the august sailing found out we had been on the ship before we became minor celebrities on board. Also, drinking with the Finns is fun and quite a challenge, lol.... We actually had a great time!

We are sailing on Costa Serena in March and have already sailed on the Magica and Altantica. Liked our Costa experiences (one in Med, back to back in Caribbean) and especially liked the price!

 

Now some of the new ships have the Samsara Spa, is there still a sauna and steam room for general use. We like to nip in the sauna / whirlpool / steam room late afternoon and don't really want to have to pay a fee. How does it now work? The steam room was free on Costa Magica was there was no Samsara Spa.

Don't know but would love to find out! I have been on the Magica and the Mediterranea (in fact just returned from the Med cruise last week) and they had both stream room and sauna and I enjoyed both, but who can say what the policy is with this new Samsara Spa concept!

We had some whiney people on our cruise too....felt like it didn't "cater" to Americans enough, or something like that. Hello! It's an Italian cruise line! I like the diversity of passengers and especially all the pastas!!!! :)

Thanks all!!! There they are! I think the deck plans on orbitz didn't have this! Should have looked at the Princess web site! Very nice. Not planning on doing a lot of laundry, but some. And I think probably they have an iron and ironing board in each one most likely?

Can live without the in-cabin internet...was just curious though. You would think they'd build this in new ships though right?? Oh well...

Hey gang!

I have 2 questions about the Crown Princess (only 5 days to go!!!)

Does it have public laundry rooms? I think it does but not seeing them on the deck plans online.....

Also, I believe Crown Princess has wireless Wi-Fi type connections in several public rooms etc, but is there in-cabin internet access as well? I am brining my laptop so I can download my digital pictures, play movies, and write my cruise journal, but don't recall seeing anything about in-cabin internet. Anyone know??

I've had good luck requesting FOD parties on Celebrity, but otherwise have good gaydar and have met folks on every cruise I've been on. Sailing on the Mercury next month in Alaska with friends, my mom, etc., and I think the CD will be Julian Bertsch, who I've met before. He was truly one of the best/most responsive straight CDs I've met about schedule a FOD party. Even called and sent a personal note hoping he got it right...forever earned my respect by doing that.
