You'll get a lot of opinions.
If its formal a tux is great, so is a suit. You won't be entirely out of place depending on where the cruise originates if you don't dress up to this(Europe tends to be dressier, USA not so much).
On the other hand, casual is not that big of a deal. You will see at least some people wearing shorts/sandals/whatever they don't recommend, especially in a warm weather itinerary. Never seen someone get kicked out for not following the dress code on a casual night. You probably want to dress up on formal nights, but wear whatever you want on casual.

They usually aren't too stringent about that. You should also link the reservations just in case. :)

So apparently they were supposed to be doing the classic for everyone on this upcoming quantum cruise we are taking (July 4th, China). Despite this, we ended up making our own reservations. The difference was that we were only allowed to eat in the complimentary restaurants at a specific time (5:30 PM). Doubt they will move the waitstaff with us.....I'm sure they will have a more complete/finished product later on.

No, not really. If all of you are together as a family and one is 17, they may look the other way if the security officer is nice. But in general its enforced pretty strictly.

For whatever its worth and im sure things have changed, they had taxis/shuttles you could pay for waiting at the train station in civitavecchia when we went 4 years ago and same story for our friends 2 years ago. Its not a terribly big train station or town, but there tend to be cabs waiting when a cruise is departing from there.

Just adding on, we have an early boarding time at 11:45 for our upcoming cruise, but our friend on a linked reservation has a later time at 12:45. We're all boarding together. They haven't bothered us in the past.... :) so i would not worry about that.

I like Royal's cinnamon rolls.
Ditto, definitely the saving grace of the breakfast pastries :)

This might be an incredibly stupid question that was answered earlier. But, if you are D+, do you also get the free drinks? Or does this not happen because D+ has access to the concierge lounge?

Thank you all for your help! :)

Hi all,
We are booked on the July 4th sailing on the Quantum of the Seas. For some reason, it says that we are unable to make any reservations for the complimentary restaurants (American Icon Grill, Silk, Chic, etc etc...). Instead, it says we have been assigned to a 5 PM dining time, and we have no idea what this is about. We are unable to change the dining time on the initial reservation page, and unable to make any reservations. We thought that it was going to be dynamic dining where we made our own reservations. We called RCCL, and they said they would call back to help us, and they never did. Is anyone else having the same problem/have any ideas what we could do?
Thanks in advance.. :)

I wouldn't doubt the Majesty, but he also likes the Voyager a lot. Had the pleasure of meeting him last summer on that ship :)

This may have been answered before (sorry) but how long are these charts accurate for?
North Star & IFly charges??

Having gone on the Quantum in July (out of China), I'll tell you why they did increased the price. The lines were beyond outrageous for North Star, and people were mobbing and pushing and shoving each other. It was always absolutely jammed.
Also, some of the guests were under the impression they could just go and come whenever they wanted for IFly, not understanding the "1st time free" logic, and not all of the crew enforced it.
It's unfortunate, but I understand why they did it. For the more civil crowd on Anthem, and for the first few months of Ovation (until it reaches the end of it's world journey), I hope they keep it for free. However, they desperately needed some mechanism of crowd control, and I suppose this is one method of doing that.
