[Did you book on line our just find them at the port?
cant find them on Trip adviser..
quote=Cruise Girl Forever;52556143]I just returned from my cruise. We found braveheart sightseeing in port. Nice air conditioned van, and he was wonderful.
We got to stop at each place to take photo's. After the tour he will drop you off at the beach of your choice and come back to pick you up and take you to the cruise port.
We were very lucky as when we booked him ($20pp) he only had 4 other people going to baby beach. This was not on our tour. But once they were dropped off we had him to ourselves. We saw the entire south end. Then the entire north. I believe we saw everything on the island. He explained everything about his island while we were driving and answered all questions. Not once did he rush us at stops, and a if we wanted to stop somewhere along the way he did so willing.

Christmas cruising is something we would have never thought of as we live in the same state as both sides of the family. that changed for us as we lost our oldest child to cancer in July of 2010 and the thought of doing Christmas how we had always done it want something we could not stand the thought of.
we did a cruise and it was a great experience we have traveled every Christmas since then . It is our new tradition with our remaining children as it just felt right for us.
the snow, the music and we have had a midnight service with a pastor that was on the ship in the main show area and it was well attended, it is still Christmas but in a way we can handle it.
Think you will love the closeness and change of pace without the craziness of what we think of as Christmas. it is about experiences not gifts and makeing everyone else happy.

I am presently purging my closets and getting rid of what isn't working for me. Much of what I have is being donated, however I do have some newer things that can be worn for cruising or work that I thought I would offer here first. I have placed the items on a slideshow as there were so many things and I don't really have the time to devote today to uploading each piece separately. If you are interested in any of the items, please email me at islandgirlejfan@yahoo.com with the number that I have given the item or items. The majority of this particular group has been worn less than 3 times.I will not be answering emails until sometime this evening as I have many errands to run today. I will take requests in the order received. As always, just looking for the postage to be paid on the items requested.

John, I have a question, Just got off the Freedom and what a great time was had by all.
service was outstanding and in addition to the tips on the sign and sail we elected to tip extra. we did envelopes that we handed them to all 3 of the wait staff, we were very surprised as we watched the assistant waiters walked over and gave the tips to the head waiter.
Are they not allowed to keep extra tips that they are given?
look forward to your reply.

John Heald He is in charge of the team of 3 Valerie and I think he will be responsible for sharing the gratuities accordingly. But please don't worry as everyone you wanted to take care of will be and how very kind you are for doing so. I am so glad you had fun and I hope we see you again soon. cheers

It was early dinning 6:00pm and we were there every night.
thought if you kept tips in place on the sign and sail card and give extra it would go to who you handed it too.

We so enjoyed meeting you at the meet and greet and did not see you at all the rest of the cruise. Glad one of us did a review as I talk about doing it them it gets crazy!

Just completed a great cruise handed the head waiter a extra tip in an envelope, also gave the 2 assistant waiters envelopes watched them walk over and give them to the head waiter. My question is are they not allowed to receive tips or are they required to give them to the team leader?

So crazy, We can lie and say it is an emergency and have him get off or be upfront and not get a clear answer.
My TA just got 2 different answers when she called Carnival, fine to do and not allowed at all.
has anyone missed a port in and had to fly back home?
what did carnival do?
all responses would be welcome.
thanks

That's not what I'm saying. Customs (CBP) does not want the $300, since there is no violation of PVSA. And CBP fines the cruise line, not you. They are very specific about that. They don't care if there is an agreement (your ticket contract) between the cruise line and you that allows the cruise line to charge you for the fine. You will not see CBP in FLL when you embark. A cruise line employee will check your documents and enter them into the passenger manifest, which will be submitted to CBP for "pre-clearance" for your return to FLL. Towards the end of the cruise, you will be given a Customs declaration, just like when you fly in from foreign. You will give this to CBP when you disembark. When the ship clears CBP in San Juan, the passengers are treated as if they are "in transit", so they will not clear Customs. However, if Carnival is aware of the intention to disembark early in SJ, they will have your son fill out his declaration the night before, and will then be able to have CBP clear him for disembarking. They may require him to come to guest services as soon as the ship docks, to clear in person with CBP.
I'm saying that Carnival may "fine" you (and keep the money) for the inconvenience of an early disembark. Legal? Probably not. Worth fighting over? Probably not economic.
I'm also saying that if you choose not to inform Carnival, then clearing Customs in SJ falls entirely on yourselves, and Carnival is released from any responsibility in contacting CBP, except that the revised manifest (showing your son "missed" the ship in SJ) will be forwarded to CBP.
So just got off the phone with CBP- They will not take the money Carnival does as they charge Carnival however she cant tell me how much it is as every CBP port charges what they want????????? I called The main office in DC and she gave me the number down in FLL however it just rings and no one picks no VM.
