  1. Before our Carnival Glory cruise during Christmas week, I found good recommendations here on CC, for "Hiring a Private Driver for the day" for our stop in Cozumel, so I contacted them. The man in charge (Eduardo) was not only quick to reply back, but really helpful with all of my questions. I have to say I was quite impressed, so I booked it and am really glad I did!

Our driver, Cantaro, was not only informative, but ever so friendly and yes, he spoke English. We all had such a fun time with him! Although 3 out of 5 of us have been to Cozumel many, many times before, even we 3 saw and learned new things during our tour, which was, in itself, surprising.

We didn't do the Mayan Ruins, because we've "been there/done that", and were just looking for a nice all around tour, which is just what we got. So, if anyone is looking for something like this and doesn't want to book their ships shore excursions, we agree with the others who recommended "Hire a Private Driver for the Day", as we were more than satisfied with their service to us as well! You can Google "Cozumel hire a driver for the day" to find them.

    Thanks again Eduardo and Cantaro!:)

  2. This man is still there, as of last Thursday. He approached the four of us asking, "Do you speak English?". When we said yes, he said, "Thank God!" and started his story. He's neatly dressed and acted very calmly. Too calm, if his story was true. When he got to the part about his father going to the hospital in an ambulance without him, I interrupted him and said, I've heard of you, you're known on the internet. Then I told him to get lost. My companions were a little shocked until I explained that he was a well-known scam artist. He is quite convincing.

Later we were coming back to the ship and came across him talking to a young couple. He'd changed his clothes. They had money out and I told them he was a scam artist. Needless to say, he didn't get their money.

Good for you! I'd do the same thing. Since he's been doing this for so long now, makes me wonder if the authorities there don't get a cut from what he takes in? They surely have to know about him. Wonder what would happen if someone actually brought a policeman/women over to him duirng his scam? This guy probably makes more scamming people in one day than he would at a real job. Shameful! JMO.
