  1. I feel your pain. I’ve been trying all means (email, phone calls, Twitter) without success to reach someone at Corporate to resolve an issue with my upcoming Alaska cruise. Customer service has been absolutely no help.

  2. I had this happen on the Anthem in November. We had the 2 bottles of water removed shortly after boarding by the room steward. When I called RC, I was told someone other than the room steward checks the rooms following departure and if the water bottles are missing, your onboard account is charged. When I explained I had them removed, they credited my account. In today's technology world, I am surprised that the room steward doesn't note somewhere they removed the bottles. All worked out!

  3. This happened to us recently on the Anthem. Our server in American Icon was good but definitely overworked. Food was so-so. There were some great dishes and I enjoyed our meals in AI but some of the dishes left me wondering why I ordered them. I guess my problem I miss he "old days" of dining -- can't wait to hear how the new dining options work out on RCCL.

And I did the survey and did not give a 5 on the food just the service.

  4. I wish that they would change the decor a bit in American Icon. We will have My Time in January 2017. I remember a picture of NYC in the restaurant and I was happy that I was not eating there every evening last January. Food wasn't the issue. It was the constant reminder of what I trying to escape "greeting me" every time I walked into the restaurant.

Your table must have been near ours. I looked at that picture constantly during my 12 day.

  5. We just completed the 12-day Oct 29-Nov 10 on the Anthem. We tried all 4 complimentary restaurants but found American Icon to be our favorite. If you can get Stefan, he was the best!

Be sure to book IFly. Absolutely loved it!

Unless you are a diehard shopper, steer clear of the Royal Promonade during the "sales". that is the one area of the ship I found to be small. Too many people, not enough room.

Participated in several Trivia sessions -- passes the time during sea days.

Our ports were Western Caribbean and Mexico so I can't give you any tips there.

Enjoy! You will have a great vacation!

  6. Picked up the wrong bag at Baltimore and didn't realize it until we arrived home. Called owner and shipped next day at my expense. My mistake and I gladly paid to get it to the rightful owner. RCCL did charge $40 (I think) to ship the correct bag back to me. Lesson learned -- pay closer attention when collecting bags at disembarkation.

  7. The Solarium

While NorthStar is really just a gimmick that adds a brief moment of fun to your cruise, the one feature on Anthem Of The Seas that I found most enjoyable and hugely better than anything competing cruise lines offer is The Solarium.

The Solarium is an adults-only area at the front of the ship, which is wind-protected and stays delightfully warm even on the coolest sea day. It features lots of loungers, daybeds, and comfortable chairs, as well as two huge Jacuzzi whirlpool tubs, and a tiered series of pools that you can relax in. It also offers a spectacular view forward.

My favorite part of the ship, the adults-only Solarium

The pools are about three feet deep... perfect for sitting and relaxing and socializing.

There are three pools, stacked one above the other, and each one spills over in to the next lower one

This is exactly where I can be found on seadays on my upcoming 12 day on the Anthem. Great pictures!
