  1. I haven't done this cruise yet but will be in May. We are doing the TA from FLL to Copenhagen and then the Baltics and back to Copenhagen. I don't know of any private tour companies that do this, someone else on our roll call asked about it. But, what you are describing is offered by Princess. I had actually considered doing it but my flight is too early. It is listed with all the other ship's excursions as a disembarking tour with drop off at the airport. You should have a late flight, after 3 pm it says. Princess takes care of your luggage while you are on the tour and drops it off at the airport where you will pick it up before checking in for your flight. If your cruise is in Aug. the excursions will not be available till May for booking, 90 days before sailing.

    Hope this helps.

  2. I see from your question that you were asking about from the airport to the cruise terminal. Well, first of all it depends on what cruise line you are on, as there are 2 different piers in Seattle. Some cruise lines use Pier 66 in downtown Seattle and others use Pier 91 a little north of downtown which makes Pier 91 a little further from the airport which is south of Seattle. A cab ride to Pier 66 is about $50, and to Pier 91 about $60. Of course that depends on traffic, and Seattle is famous for its traffic congestion. You can also look into Shuttle Express from the airport to the piers and that would be a flat rate. You can check them out at www dot shuttleexpress dot com/cruises.

When I was researching this a couple of years ago the cruise line we were going on charged about $100 for both of us one way between airport and cruise pier.

    Hope this helps.

  3. Does anybody have info regarding the best way for two people to get to the cruise port from the airport in Seattle? Cab or ships transfers?

Are you flying in the night before and staying at a hotel? a lot of hotels offer cruise packages and will take you to the cruise pier. When we did an Alaskan cruise out of Seattle we stayed at a Best Western (I believe) close to the airport that picked us up at the airport, brought us to the hotel. Then next morning they took us to the cruise pier. Following the cruise they picked us up at the pier and took us back to the airport. There are hotels downtown that will take you at least to the pier. We did not care if we stayed downtown as we used to live in Seattle and had been downtown many times. But it is a nice place to see if you have never been there.

  4. Isn't USAA only for Military?

Active, retired and for awhile now any other veterans(honorably discharged probably) and their dependents. We got a USAA MasterCard a few months ago with the plan to use it in Europe on a 2014 TA and Baltics cruise. The card comes without the chip and PIN. After you have it you must then request it to be changed to a chip and PIN. They wanted to know when I was going to Europe and said to request the change 90 days ahead of the trip. I also have a BOA Visa Travel card with a chip, no PIN. It has a PIN for cash advances and I hear that sometimes that will work for purchases and sometimes not. I know that Chase is now sending out new cards with chips but not pins, unless you get one of their more elite cards.

On another note I wonder if this situation has happened to anyone else. My neighbor has one of the Chase chip cards with no PIN. She was at a small Bistro and supposedly the chip was so strong it somehow drew all the charges for the whole day onto their card. I have not heard before of something like this happening. I think the clerk made a clerical error somehow but I don't know for sure.

  5. I believe the Hermitage is closed on Sunday. Our tour with Alla for next May had the Hermitage scheduled for the first day, which happens to be a Sunday. They just adjust their schedule and do the Hermitage on Monday and move something else to Sunday. I assume the ship's tours are able to do that as well.

  6. Google Best Western, Stirling Road, Dania Beach. We have stayed there twice pre-cruise, very reasonable, and includes breakfast. They have a shuttle to pick you up at the airport providing it's before 11 pm, and also run a shuttle to the cruise terminal in the am, which I believe you pay for, but it's inexpensive. Very close to the cruise port so if you have a number of people in your party you could call a cab and ask for a minivan if they have them and it probably would be cheaper.
