  1. I have to be honest....I can't think of a less impactful role to me on the ship. Of course, they need to ensure that the restrooms are clean....but to have someone stationed there to hand out towels and press the button to open the door feels like a "nice to have" and not something I really look for or even want on a cruise. I really don't like bathroom attendants in land based locations either. That is one place I am not looking to have conversations or make friends...lol.

I would rather have more crew in other areas (bars, pool areas, restaurants, etc.) than have people stationed in rest rooms.

  2. As a retired business owner & having sailed many times on both Celebrirty & RCCL ships ,there is NO question in my mind that corporate is squeezing the Buffalo on the nickel ,so to speak . We have seen & experienced changes we DON'T like:eek:

Sorry to hear that those employees on their activities staffs are losing their jobs due to corporate bean counters exercising their tight grips :(

As far as we are concerned (Elite + with 62 cruises ) we will not accept their vast changes . There are many other vacation options besides a cruise & perhaps more enjoyable vacations ,away from crowded ships;):) .

We leave Sat April 5th on a west coast Century cruise to say goodbye to a wonderful ship & crew .We will be alert to any changes . If evidence appears to us, I will immediately cancel our 5th Alaska cruise booked with Celebrity for 2015 .We will stayed tuned in to cruise critic boards as well ;)

"We will be alert to any changes ."

At least you admit you cruise to look for reasons to complain. I cruise to relax and enjoy myself.

I think my approach is more fun....but to each his own.

  3. It's really awful...loud and obnoxious...seriously it's not good at all! Maybe outside but in the lobby it's yuck

Sent using the Cruise Critic forums app

So they are playing multiple Depeche Mode songs? And it is "blasting"?

I guess Celebrity is listening and bringing about change. According to posters on here they play techno so loud you get hearing damage. They play rap music all the time. And my favorite...heavy metal.

Now they are playing (sorry....blasting) 80s pop music. Interesting.

Looking forward to hearing for myself in March. Have a great cruise!

  4. We agree completely.

This is what many of us are requesting. If we know where to expect loud music that precludes conversation and could possibly damage our ears, we can avoid those venues, and have drinks and conversation elsewhere, where the music is softer, and more to our taste. For those who enjoy loud music, there should be venues where they can spend their time.

Are you seriously saying that you think Celebrity plays music on the ship that is so loud that it could possibly damage your ears? Really?

  5. There is a huge disconnect with what I am reading on here and what I experienced on Reflection. I do not like going to bars where I have to raise my voice to communicate. The music I experienced on the Reflection NEVER made me raise my voice to have a conversation. That includes martini bar..molecular bar...ensemble bar...mdr....etc..

Either the volume was different for other cruises...or some people on here just don't like the music and they are chalking it up to volume as opposed to the type of music.

Personally....I thought the volume and type of music was perfect. For those of you who are concerned because of the comments on here, I would take those comments with a grain of salt.

  6. Only cruised on Reflection..but I loved the atmosphere that the music created. In some areas it reminded me of W Hotels. Gave the ship a contemporary cool vibe.

I don't know if Reflection is different than other ships...but if the music level is typical, then I think Celebrity has done a great job of aligning their music with their "Modern Luxury" branding.
