A not very well know or advertised tidbit about parking at the Galvelston Cruise Ship Terminal. Veterans with "Service Connected Disability" park free. You must show your VA Disability Letter or VA card showing % of disability at check in. A disabled car tag or plackard is not required.

15 Carnival cruises and I have never received any such offers. But, then again I don't take cruise ship sponsored tours. Guess that might be the reason.

Same beer, rebranded is all.

Thirsty Frog tastes like Budwieser, Because it is just Bud American Red kegs with a new lable. I dont know where all this stuff about it being a private brew came from. it is just a marketing ploy by AB and Carnival

In 4 cruises (and currently awaiting October for my 5th) I've been called once for an upsell that I turned down. Never an offer via email. Then again, since I never get an eComment Card after cruises, I'm assuming they have chosen to lose my email address.:rolleyes:

They can manage to find my e-mail a couple of times a week to send pitches for cruises, but they seem to loose it after each cruise so I don't get the comment card either. Not one in the last 5 cruises now. Do they really care what their customers care, I am not convinced that they do.

My Chef's Table experience on the Triumph last October was a mixed bag. I thought the food was fine...I got the cookbook & photo of the group...our venue was a small private dining room just off the MDR. But what was difficult for me was the fact that we were assigned seating at a VERY long table. I was the only solo cruiser, and they assigned me a seat at the very end of the table...so I had no one across from me, and the woman seated to my right was engaged with her husband across from her and the people to her right.

 

On the comment card at the end of the evening, I suggested that perhaps a round table might be better. ;).

 

I'm doing my 2nd solo cruise in 2 months...we'll see what happens this time lol.

I was seated the same way on both of my Chef's Table nights. Odd man out as usual, I am used to it so no big deal to me. Fortunetly both times were a fairly fun group, not crazy fun but certainly not booring.

OP: It is too bad that the experience was not to your liking. I suppose that it is not for everyone. I have done the Chef's table on both the Elation and Triumph and fully enjoyed both. I look forward to going to it on the Magic in December.

Nothing new here, not a week goes by that someone does not post about this scam. They get enough takers from gulible people that it makes it worth while for them to continue the scam.

Get rid of the ridiculous 200% single supplement for all cabin classes. Why should I be penalized for cruising alone and have to pay the same as two people?

Bring back real bands. I am sick of the computerized back up tracks.

Get rid of the Flat Iron steak (shoe leather) and bring back real quality cuts of meat on the standard MDR menu.

Stop playing info commercials on the big screen and turn the volume down.

"The most shocking (memorable) thing I saw on my last cruise was......" My cabin stewards being sea sick on the last sea day and night. I don't think many were not on that cruise. It was the first cruise for my poor asst. steward and I got the impression that she was second guessing her decision to work on a cruise ship.

Kindle and one of the 50 or so books I already have loaded and to support the timber industry a couple of paper magazines.

We did the Uxmal tour! It was great!

I had planned on doing that tour with them last trip and ended up just spending the day around the waterfront. I was doing the Chef's Table that night and decided that it would make just too long a day. Still plan on taking their Uxmal tour next time down. Glad to hear that you had a good day. I have taken a couple of tours with Autoprogreso and they have all gone very well. They are a first class and very dependable outfit in my experience.

Ditto, on the Fantasy, Triumph and Elation.

...everything else is not up to a cruise destination standard!
