  1. There is much to enjoy in the Termal Suite aside from the spa's and loungers, I found many people would curl up in the private area with a book and I heard the guys were on the men's side watching football. There is a TV in the private area. It was always quiet and relaxing. The medicated steam room was amazing. They offer a variety of hot teas, coffee and water as refreshments.

Is it worth getting the Thermal Pass for my mom? She's 55 and we are going on the Pearl for Christmas. It would be her Christmas gift, as my parents paid for the cruise as our gift. I want to get her something nice, but I'm between this and buying her something she can "keep" forever. This will be a 10 day cruise so the pass is $199

  2. Regarding the tennis question....We were on the Pearl in July 2014 cruising Alaska. At that time, there was an area that served as a single, multipurpose basketball, soccer and tennis court that was for the most part, set up to be one or the other based on what NCL led activity was scheduled.

It's still there, you have to request to habe the net set up.

  3. I have gotten take out wings from O'Sheehans on more than 1 ship. On the Gem twice have gotten wings and brought them down to the atrium for a bunch of us to have during football games and on the Breakaway a few nights we got wings to go with no sauce because they got soggy before we got them back to our cabin to eat while sitting on the balcony. So yes you can get late night wings to go in O'Sheehans,

We always took our wings back to the cabin as well. Did not ask just walked out with them after she walked away. Still can't believe they tried to ban taking food back. I was like what are they going to do tackle me in the hallway, put me off at the next stop? That was an ignorant move but smart to back-peddle quickly.

  4. I have used it a lot for discounts on hotels, claim my restaraunt.com certificate every month and have bought a couple of gift items. I've enjoyed it so far. I have also searched prices on the same hotels and through all of the discount sites, the price is the same with them but they add the discount for the credit I received through NCL. In then end the hotel cost is always cheaper. When my credit runs out, it might be different.

I had a question about a hotel bill and called, Customer service is awesome!

  5. There are lots of video tours on Youtube, just type in Carnival Splendor and check them out. Add spa to the search and you will probably get something more specific.

Wow thanks! Very nice to hear actually!

My family is cruising on the Splendor next October (yes I know...long way out). We've been trying to view pics online of the decks and haven't found any that have good detail. We want to see the spa deck (deck 10, I believe) but we want to see the outside not inside. There's the bottom of the water slide and the pool and I think a hot tub as well. Did you happen to go out there? Can you describe to me what it was like? (Or if you have pics that would be awesome too). We are trying to see if there are lounge chairs up there next to that pool bc we like to lay out in the sun and the main pool seems to be down below out of the sun....and from the online pics we've seen it appears that it's covered a lot too. So we are hoping that pool near the waterside has lounge chairs or at least a place to hang out. We are bringing our kids and I'm sure they would enjoy the slide also!

Thanks so much for helping if you're able!! So glad to hear you liked the ship!! Can't wait!

  6. I am hoping they will offer some really long Eastern and Southern Caribbean cruises out of Norfolk as well, likely Bermuda and Bahamas though.

It would be nice to not have to travel to Miami.

Several months ago Carnival, the City of Norfolk and the Governor of Virginia all announced that Carnival was returning to the Port of Norfolk for 2015. I have a hard time believing that they would make this announcement without already knowing what ship, what dates, itinerary, etc. Why can't you tell everyone so plans can be made? Come on Carnival, waiting on you. Does anyone have any information?
  7. Congrats on that Marathon!!! Excellent!:)

I want to run my first Marathon but my SO keeps begging me not to. SO, I have 2 Half coming up this year a month apart. :P I guess it's kinda like him buying a mini keg and saying he is only having one beer :p

I've been running over a year and have gottten a lot faster. PRed my 8K last weekend at 44:22 and have several set for the rest of the year.

I am so addicted, we booked our cabin over looking the track. While he is napping after an excursion, I can run the track :)

Miles this week, 7 Tuesday, planning 6 today and 8 for Saturday.

I can't run more than 3 times a week or I end up with injured inner adductors

Anyone use a foam roller? I love mine it cured my shin splints.
