  1. We did this excursion about a year and a half ago. We liked that the boat picked us up and dropped us off right at the dock, so no need to travel anywhere. It is a nice, scenic boat ride to the island. The island is beautiful and the beach is gorgeous and calm (would be great for young children). There are chairs and umbrellas and a pool. We did the stingrays with my teens and they were skeptical at first. These rays are large and can be intimidating, so I would think that your 18 month old may be a bit afraid. The employees are great in helping you to get used to them and having you pose for pictures. I suspect that they would do whatever they could to assist your child and allow "baby steps" to touching the rays. You're never more than waist deep, so you could easily hold him. We really enjoyed this excursion and have said several times that we would go back here if we ever found ourselves in Nassau again. There's also dolphin swims & I understand that you can book JUST the beach break without doing either the sting ray or dolphin encounters. On a side note, food and drinks there are very expensive, so be prepared.

  2. Curious what you found out. We have these same two cabins booked later in June and were hoping to open between the balconies, as well! I hope you had a great cruise!!

Hi, we are sailing on the Pride April 2nd 2017. We booked aft balcony cabins 6262 and 6264. This will be our first time in this category, but we have had regular balcony cabins in the past. So a couple of questions. I've been reading some reviews that say these cabins experience an unusual amount of vibration and noise, anyone who stayed in these cabins, was it really that bad? Also, are you able to open the dividers between these cabins like you are the regular balconies? In general, anyone staying in these cabins want to share your opinions and or pictures. Would greatly appreciate your input. This will be our 2nd time on the Pride, but first for this itinerary. We have also sailed the Legend twice before and we just love these ships! Thanks again!!

  3. Rented from AVIS at the pier: like others have said, this is not a major location for them, they close early (around 5PM) and there's no dropbox for keys, so we just locked them in the vehicle and went back onboard. We requested a GPS and didn't get one. Luckily I had saved some maps on my phone before leaving home, including one to the biggest Digicel store on the island to get a SIM card.:D

Definitely inspect the vehicle carefully as you would anywhere. Tire damage is a serious issue out this way because of the island's topography.

Had you prearranged leaving the vehicle at the rental location for drop off? We were looking to rent a car but have to choose drop off time and it won't let you select anything past 5:30 unless you choose the airport as the drop off location. We don't arrive until 1:30, so were hoping for more time and would hate to be rushed.

Thanks for any information you might share!

  4. There web site says licensed drivers so assume if u have DL and proof of insurance you're good to go. When we did this almost 3 yrs ago they only had gear shift vehicles but now have some autos I see.

I contacted them about this and they said that there is no age minimum, the only regulation is that you have a driver's license.

  5. Perhaps I missed it, but does anyone know the minimum age for driving one of the trikes? We will be traveling with two 19 year olds but noticed some of the ships excursions have a minimum age of 20+ for driving....

  6. We have a balcony and an interior room booked on Carnival Vista for our family of 6 (we have 3 adult children). Anyone know if they will give all of us access to both cabins (so the others in our party can also enjoy our balcony whether we are there or not) via our key cards if we request it?

  7. I have read some not so great things about the Sunshine. We are thinking of booking it for next April. Is it really that bad or would this non picky family of 4 have a great time on it? We have sailed bigger and smaller Carnival ships before.

We sailed on Sunshine last month. This was my 8th cruise and 2nd on this ship (sailed previously when it was the Destiny). It's a wonderful ship with lots to do and delicious food. I did notice lots of lines for food and crowded walkways throughout the ship. The lines were especially long to get on/off the ship They really did seem to put too many people on this ship for the size. It didn't ruin my vacation by any means! We had a wonderful time and unless you are a very impatient person, I think you will too. I'm not sure I would choose this ship again given the lines/cows factor.

  8. We are booked on the Sunshine with "Any time dining". I understand that we have to obtain a ticket and beeper on level 5. How long should we have to wait to obtain a table? We are willing to sit with others, or by ourselves - whichever would be faster.

I'm just off the Sunshine and wanted to give an update since I had been following this thread. We had anytime dining and never waited - and we even requested the same wait staff each night. Wonderful service and delicious food! Enjoy!
