  1. Please do if you can. I know I would really appreciate it as I am sure others will as well.

    Thank you!

I'll do my best! We'll try to get scans but pictures might have to suffice.

That would be really helpful, thanks.

I owe you one, not only as a fellow Keith, but more importantly for all the great Escape info you posted on IG.

So are the menus posted on Beyondships (http://www.beyondships2.com/norwegian-escape-menus.html) not current/accurate?

  2. Personally I prefer going to MDR for embarkation day lunch, on all ships one MDR is open from noon to usually 2pm. While I learned that from here when we started cruising, for me it has become the ultimate "now the cruise actually starts"-moment.

Same, it's a great place to meet if you're cruising in a group as well. Every year we make a beeline for whichever MDR is open.

The one exception was when we were on Royal Princess. Alfredo's was the perfect start to that cruise.

I could see heading to O'Sheehans this year. The new menu looks pretty good.

  3. Just checked the form from the Royal Princess. The prices are the same as the form posted above. The reason why I checked is that some things on the Royal are more expensive so I didn't want to assume that the laundry service was exactly the same.

I thought the above form was from Royal. I figured when I initially read $10 it would be $1-3 more on Royal. Pleasantly surprised it's still $10 - good price to clean and press a suit on board.

  4. In 2012 Princess specifically allowed E-cigs with a caveat that if a passenger complained even after being told the difference from a real cigarette you would be asked to extinguish it. I don't know whether this has changed.

Do E-cigs even have an odor?

Still in effect afaik, and Princess allows e-cigarette use anywhere onboard except in the MDR and Theatre.

  5. Can anyone advise how Princess allows access to Enclave on Royal? Do you get a sticker or a wristband, or is access tied to your card which needs to be swiped? Just curious, last year on NCL Epic they issued armbands and my wife and I really liked wearing them all week and just heading to the spa whenever we felt like it.

  6. I went out of my way to make sure I got an e-cig that looks nothing like a cigarette, but I am also down to 0mg of nicotine, so passengers would be complaining about flavored vapors. Luckily I haven't had to explain this to anyone as they haven't asked. If you have an e-cig that is made to look like a real cigarette you may encounter problems in which case I would just be prepared to explain....though the passengers will probably figure it out when they realize they don't smell smoke ;)

I'm quite the same as you actually. I've got a mechanical mod that you'd have to be pretty simple to mistake for a real cigarette. Also only vaping 0mg at the moment. Even still, I've had some issues with folks locally not understanding the difference.

  7. Electronic Cigarettes

The use of electronic cigarettes is permitted in all areas onboard with the exception of dining areas and the Princess Theater. However, should a fellow passenger in the vicinity feel inconvenienced and complain, even after being told the difference between electronic cigarettes and real cigarettes, we will ask the passenger to refrain from smoking the electronic cigarette.

As per Princess smoking policy. Can anyone advise if the onus is on the e-cigarette using passenger or the ship to explain the difference between e-cigs and real cigs? I can easily educate my fellow pad, but some folk may find the explanation has more credence coming from a ship official.

  8. I'm not terribly upset by this news. I'm familiar enough with Princess's wine list at this point and I frequent Vines and the wine tastings, so the Sommelier is less of a boon to me.

Another reasin I don't much care; annecdotally - when I was on the Crown a few years back the MDR Sommelier was a bit of a snob. After pooh-poohing my wine pairing choice (I'm no expert myself, but I have been a profession restaurant chef for over 10 years. I like to think I have some idea what I'm doing), he poured my wine then waited until mains were served to bring my bill. By the time he left the meal was half chilled. Imagine my surprise when he pulled the same schtick the next night. When I kindly explained to him why I didn't think this was acceptable service, he had the gall to tell me -I- was rude!
