  1. GOA is a small airport with limited capacity, lots of Costa passengers fly into NCE. If you got a direct flight, that's very good. From Canada, it's always wise to plan for a flight delay, so booking on the last bus isn't a bad idea (I assume you've double-checked it is a Costa transfer). If you're early, the Costa rep will probably put you on the next available bus.

Yes, the price of the transfer was added to the cost of the cruise. We had to print the transfer voucher when we received the e-tickets. The transfer says( at the top of the page ) CRUISE TICKET then Other Services purchased. It gives our booking No. our Cabin No. etc. It says that the Service is provided by GIOCO VIAGGI.

I doubt if they have more than 1 shuttle bus from Nice airport. They probably will be bringing people from the ship to Nice airport and pickings us up.We will probably be the last ones to embark. It takes about 2 hrs. from Nice to Savona. It's just that giving a last glance at the papers, I noticed that it says, 3:30 last embarkation time.

    Thank You

  2. That's the biggest disadvantage with using costa (or and line's) transfers. They wait until they have a fullish bus before they leave.

Why did you fly into nice? it's so far away from savona. Geona would've been a much closer choice.

Had a very good deal with airline and it was a direct flight, a plus for us and we will be doing a post cruise in Nice, something we always wanted to do.:)

  3. as long as it is a costa shuttle, they will wait. same goes for costa excursions.

I sure hope so, especially that we will be waiting almost 6 hrs. at the airport for them. I suspect that that is the time the shuttle bus takes people from ship to airport?

  4. Hi everybody,

Our plane lands in Nice ( Cote d'Azur ) at 6:45 A.M. on May 3. We took shuttle bus from Costa, from Nice airport to Savona, Italy. Our shuttle confirmation says, pick-up from Nice airport 12:45, arrival in Savona 3:00 P.M. Ship last boarding time 3:30 P.M.:confused: Has anyone done this before? It seems too close for comfort for me. Will they wait, if shuttle bus late? Sent an e-mail directly to company of shuttle bus, no replies, even though they acknowledged receipt of my e-mail. Just sent an e-mail to my TA, waiting for his answer, in the meantime, has anyone experienced this?

    Thank you

  5. Hi everybody!

We are booked on Serenade of the Seas, Cabin AFT 8168 for a Transatlantic

from New Orleans to Barcelona from April 26 to May 12 / 2014.

Very excited! Does anyone who has had this cabin on same voyage have pictures or information?:) Please share. Thank you

  6. NOT really

The DRINKS PACKAGES,prices, and drinks available are different on each nationality website

EVEN the cost of the cruise is different

It is not down to the exchange rate of the Euro, as we are talking £20-£30 PD also Italy is off course in EU as is Germany so why the difference

The cheapest cruise and drinks package is for Italians on the Italian website

    Second GERMANY France and Spain

    Third the UK

    Fourth the USA

The Italians and Germans have a higher class again of drinks package

ie:- CHEAPER AND THEY CAN ATTACK THE CABIN FRIDGE, we can not

    Jack

Jack or anyone else, would you have the link for the Italian website? Would we be allowed ( Canada ) to book a cruise on their Italian web? Much appreciation for this information.:)

    Thank you

  7. ok the drink pkg is a good deal if you average 3 to 4 drinks per day. We had it for two adults and one kid. kid is only 8 euros /day. adult was abt double or more can't remember what I paid. we got it so we could enjoy drinks without care. here is my take... they don't know you have the drink pkg till after you order, they seemed to treat the pkg peeps as well as the pay by drink peeps. they are very very slow. and not just for the pkg peeps. so, if you really want your money's worth you have to order before you want it it takes abt 15 mins per order. the bartenders tend to fill the waiters orders before the peeps at the bar so you're usually quicker to flag a waiter. the drink pkg is very weird. example: do you have champagne w/ the drink pkg?? 'No" he replys. do you have sparkling wine? yes, prosecco. bingo we'll take two...next go to dinner. and they say no to procecco, asti, etc. only wine and only the house stuff (about a C-) and only filled glass one time for 2 hrs. You have to push for more. but if you push you'll get it eventually. different bartenders would say no to a drink because of the way we worded it. you get a brochure and basically they want you to point to the drink you want. if it's not there you'll get a run around. I wanted a salty dog. well it's just vodka and grapefruit rimmed w/ salt. wow. they said ok but acted uptight about it. same w/ a coffee drink. we couldn't get one but why? it's just a shot of liquor in coffee. the shot is included and the coffee is included so what's the problem. we'd get creative in how we ordered. you can get around their little silly rules if you put some thought into it. the prices all are around 6-8Euros per drink plus service/&tip. hope this helps.!.:confused:

    Yes, it did, thank You:D

  8. We were on NeoRomantica 3 weeks ago and unbranded toilet soap was provided and the shower had a dispenser with body wash. You could request shower caps, body lotion and shampoo from your cabin steward.

Hi, should I pack a shower cap just in case or it's for sure that the steward would have one?:)

    Thank You

  9. There are hundreds of cruises of all cruise lines which go to Egyptian and Israeli ports in one itinerary, very often even as consecutive ports, so I have no idea how intelligent this TA is....

The only thing you have to be careful of is that the ISRAELIS don't stamp your passport. They have been working with this immigration card system for many years where they do not stamp your passport, but for some silly reason they managed to stamp mine. If you have an Israeli stamp in your passport, many muslem countries (including Malaysia, Indonesia, but excluding Morocco, Jordan) won't let you in.

Thank You, Can you believe how many regulations one must know for travelling? I know someone who had seriously a bad time because his passport was NOT stamped in Peru.

Thank you for this info, very useful to know. Same TA pulled same thing when I went to Egypt.(maybe yes or maybe not, you'll need a visa, better find out than be sorry).

    Thank You:)

  10. I've entered Israel twice on cruises with Egyptian (and many other Arab countries) visa stamps in my passport. The Israeli immigration officers may ask you a couple questions about your travels but they have no problems with this issue. Before you arrive at Haifa Israeli immigration officers on the ship will eyeball you and your passport and give you a stamped immigration card which will serve as your visa for your brief stay in their country. Your passport will not be stamped.

Thank you, this is the kind of info I was looking for.:)

  11. i wouldn't expect costa to know this. i WOULD expect your TA to know it, though.

try asking this on the ports of call boards. there are some natives who post there regularly.

    Thank You,

So happy to report to have actually being able to contact Embassy.

For anyone else who is wondering about this and is a Canadian. The answer was " No, you don't need a Visa, you are a Canadian" Then she went on to explain that, at the boarder when they ask, you just be honest and tell them why you went, and that the stamp on the passport would tell them how long. I checked passport and the stamp does say, " Quick Visit" and it also shows a picture of a ship!

To be fair to my TA he is American, so he wasn't sure and asked me to double check. He did contact Costa for us and they didn't know.

Needless to say, I am very happy that we need no Visa and don't need a new passport!:):):)

    Thnk you

  12. Hi everybody,

I am seeking an answer from someone who has cruised with a port in the past 2 years to Alexandria, Egypt. (Cunard)

We are booked with Costa, having an overnight stay in Haifa.

Our TA has asked me to call the Israel Embassy in our city to ask if we need a Visa of entry because our passport has an Egyptian stamp. Our TA asked Costa but they did't know:confused::confused::confused:

Our TA suggested we get a new passaport:eek::eek::eek:

Send an e-mail to Israel's Embassy and it came back undelivered.

Being trying to call them all morning on their phone, NO ANSWER

Shouldn't the cruise line have this information?

Have any of you experienced this same thing?

    Could someone please reassure me?

We are Canadians and travel with Canadian passport.

    Thank you

  13. Hi, I went on the GTI webpage. They actually suggest to do the Bethlem and Jerusalem from the Ashdod port, being closer. We will be in Haifa port for 2 days, the same as you. Was the driving very long and did you have enough time to enjoy the tour or was it very rushed?

    Thanks:)
