DW and I will be cruising on the Carnival Pride next year and plan to take a limo to the port. Once we arrive, she will need a wheel chair to get from the limo, through check-in, and all the way up to the cabin. Once on board, she will have a motorized scooter so that she can get around.
My questions are:
1. What kind of assistance can I expect when we arrive?
2. Will I have to leave her outside while I go into the terminal to find someone to help?
3. Will they stay and assist us through the whole check-in process and to the cabin?
I've received and read Carnivals document on wheelchair assistance and want to know how easy or hard it was for anyone to get the help they needed for embarkation and debarkation from Baltimore.
Thank you so much in advance. :D

Love the pictures. Can't wait to show the DW. I'm sure she will love them too.

Hi everyone great posts. I was wondering about the suite life on the POA havn't read anything about them. Staying in a two bedroom deluxe family next year.
You have the same amenities as the other ships. The only difference that instead of having breakfast in Cagney's, you have breakfast in the Lazy J, POA's steakhouse.

Yesterday, I received a letter from NCL that included my priority luggage tags as well as a link to the Welcome Aboard Booklet for suite guests, "ncl.com/welcomesuites". Needless to say, it does not work. By some link manipulation, I managed to find the correct link. So those of you who are cruising with NCL as a suite guest, you can find the welcome suites booklet here:

The choices in coffee is strength rather than flavor. I enjoy the purple top coffee, I could not even tell you what it is named after all my NCL cruises...LOL. It is a strong coffee and I love being able to brew a fresh cup when I want in my cabin. The creamers and provided, but basic. If you want someyhing flavored, it would be best to bring it with you.
I am sorry that I could not be of more help. I just order the purple ones:o.
Cherie
The purple ones are Espresso Delicato. There are others that are stronger. I'm going to order the Delicato as well as the Espresso Tierra! and Caffe Crema Dolce. YUM!!!

I don't know if you considered these options. NCL has a Pearl Harbor and Honolulu tour and a Grand Circle tour the morning of debarkation. The Pearl Harbor/Honolulu tour is a 6 hour tour and the costs $59 for adults; $39 for children. The Grand Circle tour is an 8 hour tour and costs $99 for adults and $59 for children). Afterwards, you and your luggage will be dropped off at the airport. Both tours start at 8 AM, which would put you at the airport at 2PM and 4PM, respectively.
The only issues I see that you might have is the cost and the time you'll have afterwards hanging around the airport. ;)

can you tell me where you found the post day room info on the ncl... I can't find it.
I found it under hotel accommodations (Waikiki Beach Marriott Resort Beach and Spa). Here's the link:

I asked earlier on this thread if the suites on the "Pride of America" had names and didn't get any responses. So I'm guessing that they do not.
In light of this fact, I'm going to "assign" a name to the suite I will be occupying in January. It's Deluxe Penthouse Suite 10000. In keeping with the theme of the ship (Americana), I will unofficially call it the "Windy City Suite". That's because it sits at the front of Deck 10 and has a balcony that occupies the middle third of the entire deck. As I understand it, if you have both your cabin door and balcony door open at the same time, you will get the same wind tunnel effect as you do between the skyscrapers of Chicago. :D

There is a storage area at the pier. THey charge $5 for each piece you leave with them. Everything must be picked back up before 6 PM.
If you sign up for the Hop on Hop Off bus with NCL the storage is free.

Love the list, but notice that there are a few ships missing. Does NCL just have names for a few of their ships and not all? In particular, the Pride of America.
Inquiring minds want to know. ;)

LOL :D You mean that first "D" doesn't stand for Dipsh*t ???
~Michele:cool:
Nope. That would be two words. So instead of DW, DH, it would be DSW or DSH. Same could be written for Dumb A**. And would be written DAW or DAH.

Can't wait till the conclusion. So far, this has been an awesome story.

we are in a deluxe 2 bedroom suite on pride of america this summer....can anyone tell me about room service....is it only the main dining room? other venues too? or just a flat out special menu?
will we have reserved seating in the theater on POA....or not on the pride....
I know for breakfast you can special order some items from the other restaurants. For instance, steak and eggs, eggs benedict with crab or shrimp and other such things. Your conciegre can get you the menus for all the restaurants as well as the menu for the week from the MDR.
There is reserved seating in the theater, but from what I read somewhere on CC, it isn't that great. It is located towards the back of the theater and has an obstructed view. It's best to get there early so you can get decent seats.

Only if you have a mug shot taken, you may have block out the number.lol.

My DW received the same card in the mail a few months ago. It was for a vacation club. If attended their little presentation that they were having to celebrate the arrival of their business in your area, you would get a free 7-day cruise PLUS airfare.
I knew it was a gimmick, but scheduled a time to attend the presentation. Well, after they get you involved by giving you points for providing interesting answers to their questions, they spring it on you that the points add up to dollars off their premium membership. My DW and I ended up being the couple with the most points and were quickly whisked away by one of their reps for the hard sell.
After playing around with them for about 15 minutes we told them we weren't interested in their membership and would you please give us the certificates for the cruise and airfare.
Now here is where they get you. You have to pay a deposit to be able to use the certificates. For the cruise it was $75.00 and for the airfare, it was $50.00. Then to make it even more interesting, there was no guarantee that you could use both together OR get the cruise or flight you request.
To summarize, the coupons they give really are not worth the paper they are printed on! And don't waste your time attending their presentation!

Thank you rockabutzer, makes me wish I was still on it now as I'm posting this review. :)
I've got to ask the question, what kind/type of camera did you use? The clarity of these pictures are awesome!

LOLOLOL! The next question is going to be "How Can I Remove My Big Red Star". Too funny!
HELP! I have a red star. How do I get rid of it?

Love the review so far. My DW and I will be on the Pride this December. Makes me wish I was on her now.
Good luck to Tracy.
Renting scooter - who to rent from?

My DW and I are cruising on the Carnival Pride from Baltimore to the Bahamas and was wondering about what other cruisers experiences were with the various companies who rent scooters. Hopefully, I can get a consensus of which company to choose.
Thanks!
