  1. We have done 16 cruises and never had the beverage package.  We usually bring several bottles of wine that we like and pay the corkage fee at dinner, really don’t mind doing that.  I am looking at the wine list and most glasses are over $10.00.  If we drink a $15.00 glass at dinner do we pay $15.00 or $5.00, which is the amount over the limit.  We really don’t want to drink house wine.  Will bring my own if that is a problem.

  2. I just booked a seven day cruise on the Regal Princess starting 1/19/20.  It came with the drink package which we have never had before, we just can’t drink that much to justify the cost.  This will be our 12th Princess cruise.  We usually bring our own wine for dinner and have no problem paying the corkage fee.  My question is if I don’t bring wine is there a good selection in the dining room and Crown Grill that is not just house wine.  Also is it reasonable to expect the server to refill our glasses once or twice.  We are late seating for dinner and the past few years that dining room has been less than half full.

  3. My wife and I just returned yesterday from seven days on Caribbean Princess, when we arrived at the ship 3/2 we could see a large pile of the chairs that had taken off the ship.  We were in C622 a little more room in cabin but only a desk chair to sit on.  I am 63 in good shape but miss the chair.  If my wife and I have a drink before going out someone has to sit on the bed the other on a desk chair.  We had a large deck but many times deck furniture dirty or salty.  I think we should be given an option.  This was our 11th Princess cruise I think they want you out of the room and spending money on the ship.  We spend plenty just don’t like being manipulated.

  4. We used it for the first time in February on the Crown. Well worth the money not having to drag bags around at the end of the cruise was great. Watching everyone else go through the hassle and remembering made me feel this is the way to go going forward.

  5. On our last cruise in February on the Crown we had two coupon books, have had them before and never found anything interesting. Happened to notice they had buy one specialty dinner get one free. This was for the first night only. Made the reservation and enjoyed the dinner. In ten previous cruises with Princess never had seen this. Our past few experinces in the specialty venues had been poor food and service. This time was much better. I think they have made an effort to step up and try to get people back in the venues.

  6. We are going on the Crown in late Feb. We were on her last year and main dining service was really bad. Specialty restaurants not much better. I spoke to the head food person wasted time. Too many pay venues with no additional staff. We have 10 cruises with Princess if no improvement we will find something else to do. Not the fault of the staff they did their best.

  7. I have responded on another thread about my recent poor experience at the crown grill. We look forward all year to our cruise and special dinner experience. I am no t interested in a comp bottle of wine or refund of my charges. We want to enjoy a nice dinner experience and have unfortunately been disappointed. Not worried about the money just want a pleasant evening. These venues used to go out of their way to make things great.

  8. We were also on the March 25th Crown cruise and had dinner in the crown grill Monday night. Had an 8 o'clock reservation, waited in line outside and not seated until 8:30, no explanation until seated. Had last table in the corner with dirty dishes next to us. The waiter was very good, said Princess was now taking online reservations and was overbooking and not communicating this to the waitstaff. He was very sorry. I ordered blackened rib chop as before and it looked like a breakfast steak not good. We have cruised with Princess 9 times and have had dinner at Crown Grill at least 20 times, really disappointed this time, cancelled reservation for later in the week. saw the head matre de later in the week at sabatini's and let him know, don't know what good it did. main. Dining room service also not good. look forward to having dinner with my wife and expect good service, don't know what to do going forward, afraid this is going to be the standard going forward.

  9. My wife and I have experienced these same time of difficulties on our last two cruises, aboard the crown and Caribbean. I can't seem to understand why it was easy and pleasant before. If we go this winter it will be our 12th cruise and 7th with princess. I do not go on a cruise to have an unpleasant dining experience or eat in the buffet each night. I don't know if too many traditional diners just go anytime and clog up the works. We are considering an all inclusive resort if things do not improve.

  10. My wife and I will be on Grand 2/4/12 Rm C714. Want to try UBD should we try at port in San Juan or another nite when ship is underway. Have been on four Princess cruises never tried UBD want it to be a pleasant experience.
