  1. Do you think it will be ready in November. Looking at the western Carib. In

Feb. and a little worried about all the delays. Dont want to end up in Belize city

  2. We found it to be more crowded especially in Luminae. Also noticeable sometimes with the specialty dining in the buffet.

Even though the stats would indicate there is potentially more deck space I would believe there is less -

Reflections has 1,523 cabins with Peak Passenger load of 3,655

Silhouette has 1,443 cabins with Peak Passenger load of 3,463

Other SClass have 1,425 cabins with Peak Passenger load of 3,420

What affects Luminae are the additional Sky Suites

    Reflections - 84

    All other S-Class - 44

    Was Michaels club crowded also?

  3. At the moment there are two on the Silhouette as well but one has just started a couple of cruises ago. They also pulled in extra bar staff when it was busy to help out.

On the Eclipse there is still only one concierge but the amount of work is far too much for one person now. They also struggle with the bar on the Eclipse at busy times - there seems to be a reluctance to ask for help at the moment on the Eclipse.

Anca is training another person. Believe me, she doesn't need anyone's help.

If all cruise personnel were like her, it would be a better world

  4. We have done this too each time, although they normally allocate Tuscan grill for your first nights dinner.

We've always changed it to suit, as we then use the onboard discount they've offered to dine in a speciality restaurant on the first night..our last 2 sailings this was a 2 for 1 deal!

2 for 1, now you're talking my language. Is this pretty common?

I'd probably do one for that, because the prices seem pretty steep. I've got Luminae, so not that excited about dropping more $

  5. We absolutely loved Luminae last fall. We were on a two week cruise over Thanksgiving and on some sea days we ate all three meals there.

I will agree that there are not a lot of salads offered. No problem. Some days at lunch I just wanted a salad with some grilled chicken and a few other additions. They didn't blink an eye. Got a fresh mixed lettuce salad with everything I wanted. Husband likes the Caesar salad made fresh at Tuscan Grill. Boom. Got it. Every single night.

I asked for some boiled shrimp on my dinner side salad one night. Got it. Mmm.

We like broccoli and like it cooked soft, not crunchy. We got that, and green beans, and sautéed spinach -- whenever we wanted a bit more green on our plate.

We always found one of the 4 offerings just fine. Our waiter was very good and completely described them to us. A couple times we were able to get a SMALL serving (maybe 1/3 size) of an entree or side dish just to taste.

We loved Blu for many years but we find this better. And the service is fabulous.

Best thing Celebrity has done in a long time, in my opinion.

Good for you. That's the way a cruise is supposed to be. After all, you are paying real cash for all that service.

  6. This is what we do for self-disembarkation, and we normally sail in suites. First, we have never been escorted or even really come into contact with our stateroom attendant or butler on our disembarkation morning.

We like to self-disembark as if we're flying out of FLL we usually have about a 10:10 nonstop 90 minute flight home. We can be in our house in south La. right after lunch.

So.... you have to be able to carry everything yourself. If you need to do stairs in tandem it's ok. We've handled a set of golf clubs, two large suitcases, and up to 3 carry-ons. You will sign up and they'll give you a time to show up in a particular location. Whatever that time is, say it's 7:30 - go down with all your luggage at 6:45.

Typically they'll have you line up your suitcases to hold your place in line. Go ahead and do that. We don't worry too much about breakfast on those days. We might alternate getting a muffin or something at Cafe' al Bacio. If you do this, you'll be early off the ship, among the first handful really. If you have to go up or down a flight, try not to use the elevator unless you're standing right next to it. Just take the cases down in tandem. Usually you'll disembark on that same level that you lined up on.

You'll pass through the process and normally you'll get through pretty fast. I suggest not pre-arranging transportation. Just come out of the terminal and grab a taxi. They'll be there, particularly if you're one of the first off.

We have often been in the airport by 8:00. That's where we take a few minutes to breathe and enjoy a beverage and a bagel or something.

Why do you decline the escort by the Concierge?

  7. Thanks for the Tuscan review and pictures of Michael's Club. Will remember the tip of asking Michael's Club concierge to ensure seating preferences.

+1 I was wondering about the Michaels layout. We will be on 3/6 in the Aft Sky ( with the POLE).

Sabatinis was pretty good, but the Tuscan doesn't do it for me either.
