  1. I booked our cruise in January, 2017, 8 days Eastern Caribbean leaving December 1, 2018. In April, I was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer. By that time I had already paid my trip in full and booked our sons trip. I told my oncologist that I was going on vacation and it was non-refundable. He laughed and said no problem, that I would only miss 1 treatment. So hopefully it won't be a problem.

I wish you a lot of luck and prayer for a speedy recovery. Hope you'll be able to go.

You're a warrior and will get through this with flying colors. THINK PINK!!!

  2. My family and I are cruising on the Carnival Sunshine in December. I called and was informed that the cruise was sold out and yet cannot be given a room assignment. They stated that it provably would not be given until the day of the cruise. My fear is that when we arrive at the port, we won't have a room available.

    What to do?  Help!

  4. Can anyone of you wonderful cruisers help me with explaining how and when to schedule arrival appointment times. My family and I are cruising on December 1st on the Carnival Sunshine out of Port Canaveral. Last time we cruised, we didn't have to make an appointment, we just showed up at the port.

    Please help. Thanks :D

  5. Does anyone have a list of all the drinks Carnival makes? Two years ago, I went on a Norwegian Cruise and someone posted a list on CC with the names of the drinks and their ingredients.

    Thanks

  6. My family and I cruised out of Port Canaveral and my father in law needed a wheelchair. We did not make arrangements, but we were able to get a wheelchair to get onto the ship. Once on we did need the chair for the duration of the cruise. We were able rent a wheelchair from guest services for. $50.00 deposit. We were able to take the chair on and off at the different ports we went to. The night before debarkation we returned the chair to GS got our deposit and arranged for pick up upon arrival.

  7. I am going to be taking my beloved boys ages 11 and 14 on a cruise in 2020. I am wondering if a passport card is good for cruising. I have always used my birth certificate and DL, but I am worried that I will misplace my birth certificate. It has always worried me. I looked into getting passports for all of us, but it seems a bit pricey for me. The passport cards are $40 each for the boys and $55 each for me and my husband. I was curious to see if anyone else has just the card and not a full passport. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!!

The passport cards are an acceptable form of identification. My family and I have them and have never had an issue. The only thing is that it is only for cruises that are round trip (meaning that it can only be used when the trip starts and ends in the same u.s. port). Unfortunately, it cannot be used for air travel.

  8. We sailed on the Gem in March 2015 with my handicapped MIL. She was in a wheelchair. We had 4 in our party and a total of 3 cabins booked. All four of us were allowed to board at the same time. Plus, those in wheelchairs/scooters, etc were allowed boarding prior to the main rush of boarding.

Thank you so much for the information. We were worried that we would all be separated when boarding.

  9. I was wondering if this happens to everyone that looks at the CCL website?

I was looking on the CCL, and immediately after signing out of their site, a Vacation Planner calls to find out if I was looking to book something. I explained that I was just looking and was not booking anything.

I can say that I have looked at other cruise lines to compare prices and the other lines don't call. Is Carnival that hard up for customers?

  10. Does anyone know what's happened to the 3/4/17 Epic sailing? That's my spring break next year and was looking at some options, but don't see it listed on NCL's site. Every surrounding week is listed, so I was wondering if it's either going into dry dock or if it's privately booked.

    Thanks

It's set up for the Bahamas from the 4th to the 8th. You scared me because my DH and I were looking to go on that cruise.

  11. I think I read a reference to getting the porters to put a red tag on your luggage if you have FTTF. Can anybody provide specifics?

If you have FTTF, when you arrive at the port to drop off your luggage, your luggage tags (which you print with your documents), should reflect the FTTF or show the porter your boarding pass and the will put the orange tags on all your luggage.

Last year my family and I did the FTTF for the first time and just like you, I questioned the specifics with Carnival. Once at the port, I again made it a point to bring it to the porters attention. Once done, I was then put as ease. Enjoy your vacation!
