I have been reading on here that the shops in Curacao close at 6. Can someone confirm that? The reason I ask is we don't get in until 2pm and really wanted to do a tour, but it looks like the shortest tour is 3 hours, so by the time we got on it and got back we wouldn't really have time to explore the shops in town.

I was thinking Palm Beach sounded like the more appropriate choice too. What spot do you think would be better for us, closer to Moomba or Bugaloe, or somewhere else? I guess I'm trying to figure out where to tell our taxi driver to take us to once we are there.....Thanks Again

We will be in Aruba in three short weeks, April 3. We are in port from 8-4. We can't decide between beaches. It looks like it will be either Palm Beach or Eagle Beach. Any thoughts on which is nicer? We only require restrooms, somewhere to get food and chair rental. From what I have read it looks like on Eagle we should go to MVC Eagle and on Palm either Moomba or Bugaloe is the place. Any help would be appreciated.....Thank You. By the way we are a family of 4, kids are 10 and 13.

Has anyone been there for lunch? What do they serve during lunchtime?

familycruzinnewbie, We will be on the Breeze in April as well and we have two kids, 11 and 14 too. Our thoughts are because we are heading to a beach in Aruba, Grand Turk and LaRomana we were just going to hit the shops and maybe eat dinner in port if we are growing tired of the dining room at that point.

Our next to last stop on our Carnival Dream cruise the first week of April is Curacao and our port time is 2pm-11pm. We are wondering what we can do in the four hours before it gets dark. We are thinking about passing on the beaches because we plan on beaching it in Grand Turk, La Romana and Aruba, and doesn't seem like we would have much time due to lateness of arrival. I wanted to take a tour of some sort and then shop, but from what I read on here the shops close at 6 so doesn't sound like that gives us a lot of time to shop once we return from our tour. Do the shops really close at 6? Any suggestions on tours that might be in the 1.5-2 hour range?

We are coming to La Roman on the Breeze on April 2 and am wondering if there are any beaches close enough to the port that we could walk to. We were thinking about going to Dreams for the day but $60 RT for a taxi for a family of 4 sounds steep and would prefer to find somewhere really close.

We are sailing on the Breeze in March and definitely want to spend the day at a beach in Aruba. We are looking for a beach where we can get soft sand and nice clear water. We would also like to rent chairs and umbrellas and have a place to get food and a restroom. What would be the best beach for this?
