We are considering a cruise on the Emerald Princess but I have read that there have been issues both with the air conditioning in some of the staterooms, and also with the plumbing. This is since it's refurbishment in 2015. Is anyone aware of any other problems this ship may be experiencing? Thanks

We just came back November 15 , were on the emerald princess for 48days did not have any plumbing problems or a/c problem.....

Yesterday I brought some US dollars to use as OBC buying with myUK pound, mainly because I got a very good exchange rate.

So because my cruise is in Australia how will I spend my recently purchased US dollars?

The Emerald princess is currently sailing from Europe down to Australia and New Zealand then going onto the Paciffic islands, surely they will not change currencies mid cruise?

I assume rightly or wrongly that the Emerald will stay with the US dollar as it is not positioned full time in Australia?

Next schedule is march28 to April 05,2017 I guess they will do new beds then.

We are on the NA July 15,2015 for 24 days and booked retreat cabana regular not family size and paid $755.00US.

Mind you this was done last January, could be price went up.

I was on a B2B on the Royal in January and yes you can rent a chair or a full cabana at the sancturary for the week. The chair is $40 p/p per day and I believe the full cabana was $80 p/p per day . We could not get the first week confirmed so went up every morning to book for the following day, but our friends reserved a full cabana for the week ( this is the one that includes your lounge area inside with TV,mini bar, fruits, candies and outside 2 lounge chairs). No special price for the week either.

Great to know someone else on this cruise, we have cabin 308 on Sadec (Sun Deck), it will be the first time we are able to go for more than 3 weeks, we have not booked any tours in advance but we will find a guide when we get to Siem Reap, we did this in Bangkok

We are going on the Amalotus on July 02/2012, 7 days cruise only.

We are first flying to Bangkok , going to Hua Hin for 5 days then flying from Bangkok to Siem Reap 3 days before the cruise staying at the Sofitel,

then at the end of the cruise 5 more days at the Marriott in Saigon.

The cruise if reserved and paid the deposit, we are just waiting to be able to book ff flights from Montreal, we should be able to do that at the end of july.

We were in Bangkok last year at the same time in july and weather was fine,rain usually at the end of the afternoon but always clearing up after.

What date in july are you going??

We just returned from this trip yesterday As soon as I get over my jet lag I plan on writing a full review, hopefully this weekend. There are so many questions and not alot of information but I hope that the review will answer many of them. If not, then I will be more than happy to answer specific questions and hope to have our traveling companions respond as well since they took the pre-trip 7 day tour of Vietnam with AMA. Get ready for a trip of a lifetime.

Just can't wait for your review, it will be our first Asia River cruise also

and will take advantage of all the info we can get.

Would you mind elaborating on your extra day pre/post cruise with AMA. Do you mean an extra night in the applicable hotels and arranging tours on your own? I am considering going in a day early and perhaps staying an extra day but haven't really thought about the different options.

I did arrange few nights with AMA at the Sofitel in Siem Reap before the cruise with transfers to the ship ( no tour ) we do on our own. We are starting our trip from Phuket then picking up Amalotus in SiemReap then another 5 days on our own in HCMC.
