  1. This whole post is completely false.

I do not understand the go through the middle man for everything part, once booked there is no need to go through for anything.

I have used a TA for 4 Disney Cruises, 3 Carnival and now 3 NCL cruises and have never had to go through them for ANYTHING after the original booking.

First off, booking through a TA will not cost you more, you will get the same rate that NCL will quote you - you will not get a cheaper rate on your won (own) and you do not pay them, the cruise line does.

If you book the cabin you want at the start, there is absolutely no reason for any back and forth contact that would require a middle man or any hassle.

I am a planner and do all of my own researching and planning. Once I know the cabin, cruise, dates I want - I search around for the best deals in kickbacks -- all of the big TA's always quote the EXACT same price as you get pricing through NCL. Afterwards I always have booked all of my own stuff through the NCL website just like everyone else after booking.

On my upcoming Alaska cruise in a family 2br suite, I received $1300 in incentives on top of the same price.

I have had similar experiences. Live my TA

  2. I have no problem considering a tip on the first day as a "bribe". That is exactly what it is and it always works.

I had a suitcase full of rum runners that was running late. Got scared I was flagged. $20 to my stew and it showed up promptly. Was it in the naughty room and she busted it out.? Who knows. Also had some left over after the cruise and she gladly took my leftover smuggled booze.

  3. I think he saw the blanco. Don't know that 1942 is available, except on Below Deck.

Lol I was thinking the same thing when i read this topic. Below deck!

    "I just want the 42!!"

  4. Because Easter in 2016 is march 28 th that's why

It will not be balmy med weather

It won't be like January in the northeast but it won't be as warm as you think

May June sept oct are great

July August are hot hot hot but expensive due to school summer break

Btw airfare from the USA will be high if you need it. Schools are notorious for school trips at that time and many people do travel to land based Europe trips as well. The cities will be crowded

    That price quoted included flights.

  5. My last experience with online TA went great. Was promised $525 OBC and in my room on day one was one voucher of $100 and one for $25. What the voucher didn't say was quantity of 5 for the $100. It was all there. Got $525 from TA and $300 NCL. It all came together great.

  7. Agree that cruise ship security are not as concerned about such thing. However, when having to pass through customs personnel, that is when there could be an issue.

Keep them in a zip lock in your pocket. You are not frisked down and gummies do not contain metal that will set off metal detectors.

  8. What is the penalty if the cruise line discovers booze in your luggage? Do they just confiscate it, or do they impose a penalty of some kind on you for trying to sneak it on the ship. i.e. rum runner flasks. beer, etc

They have also been know to keep it for themselves. Things get rowdy in the lower decks.

  9. When the parents aren't around and kids are being unruly, I just assume that means the parents left ME in charge. I have a bad habit of correcting and hollering at other people's kids when the parents aren't there to supervise. I feel like it's my duty.

    "Watch your mouth!"

"Hold it down! You're not the only person here."

"Get down from there. You aren't supposed to do that."

    "Don't eat that!"

"If I have to tell you again...!" :D

    +1. Exactly my thoughts.

  10. That is probably the case on all NCL ships, that the regular coffee is for free also at the coffee bar in the atrium, I didn't think about that since we only go there to have cappuccino or caffee latte.... Thank you for clarifying. :)

Do they have coffee In the epic grill in the morning? I thought I saw pictures of urns in there. My room is close to that area on floor 16.

  11. The TA's have the option to use either refundable or non. Typically, they use non refundable (not always). You can either ask the TA when booking or ask for an amenity confirmation and it will tell you which it is.

If it's not refundable it just costs 3% to cash it out at the casino.

  12. Any OBC given by NCL as a incentive for booking is not refundable. So only the OBC you have purchased yourself is refundable in your case.

Can't help you with the order of usage though, there have been mixed posts about that and we never have had problem of having any left at the end of the cruise. :D

Also to add. Not all OBC is given by NCL. Some is purchased. My price after final had dropped and NCL purchased $225 of OBC on my account. This OBC is refundable.
