  1. I am really beside myself about all the changes. We are diamond plus and don’t get the perks the suite guests are getting. I believe they are entitled to everything they get. My frustration is we had the Royal Suite on Explorer of the Seas when it left Bayonne for 2 weeks. We thought the service in that suite would have been great. Unfortunately we were told by the concierge that he couldn’t take care of us because too many Pinnacles. So now they are catering to suites. Something is wrong with this picture. Guess we booked a suite before they were given perks and the ones loyal to Royal got all the benefits. Seems a little unfair

    Is there a better beach you would recommend. I really want to book through cruise line and not many options. Don’t feel safe taking a taxi

  3. I did a guarantee suite on Anthem as well as 2 other couples I know. All the junior suites were sold out and the only available suites were grand suites or above. I don't know how they did it but we all got junior suites. Nothing higher. Maybe they upgraded the others who paid more in junior suites to the higher suites. Whatever it was still worth it .

  4. Can you please advise what the current dress code is in the MDR. There is a thread on this board that says shorts are now permitted in the MDR but the Royal Caribbean website does not indicate so. My husband likes to wear dress shorts to dinner. We just want to make sure we have the right clothes. Thanks in advance.

  5. I was in the Royal Suite on Explorer and they only extra service we got was being escorted on the ship. Otherwise nothing extra. Very disappointed. The concierge said he was to busy with all the Pinnacles. Very upsetting because we should have been treated equally. Would never spend the extra money again. Only thing worth it was the space.

  6. People could book suites through NextCruise for the higher OBC with a smaller deposit and then downgrade their reservation. Classic gaming the system.

     

    Although I think you should be allowed to change the reservation to something comparable without getting hit with the charge.

     

    It doesn't make sense to me. If they downgrade from a suite to a lesser cabin shipboard credit would go down. Where did you get the info from. My sister is a travel agent and wasn't aware of this. No notification about the change

  7. We booked a guarantee suite and got a spa junior suite. Most likely you will get a junior suite. There were no spa junior suites available when we booked just grand suites. Thought we would be assigned one of them I don't know how they assign the suites but I would bet you will get the lowest category suite. The suite was still great. You won't be disappointed

  8. Going on 5 nighter. If I prereseve on line, will they give me diamond plus rates or is it better to do on the ship. If I'm reading it right, it's either 2 free days or $39.95 off a package.

    We are diamond plus also. I wait til we are on the ship. I wait a day or so then get 2 free days on my card and for the rest of the cruise I use the $39.95 discount off the rest of the days. It works out better then getting before the cruise.

  9. Suspiciously close to the magic $12 error. Did you get your $2 credit?

     

    And who needs a newspaper? Royal Caribbean has a Facebook page and a twitter account (I'd guess) ask there what the deal is and why so many people are seeing this same charge over and over. Nothing like bad press on social media to get someone's attention.

    No I never got my 2.00 credit and never concerned about it either. I would call it an error if it just happened to me but this seems like an ongoing problem. My solution. Do not leave Evian water in the room and we can't be charged. If we want it we will go to bar to get it. I still believe Royal needs to investigate what this is happening to so many people

  10. Nothing faulty with my logic. If after dealing with a reputable company for years with no problems a minor accounting error occurs, the logical response would be to determine the facts and have the error corrected. Running around accusing the company of fraud, on the other hand, is totally illogical. Particularly as, in this case, it appears that there was no error on RCI's part, just the OP's misunderstanding of credit card transactions.

     

    I DO understand credit card transactions and today I had another charge on my credit card that was not pending for the mini bar water which I never drank.

    i just got off the 1/2 cruise and also had a fraudulent mini bar charge posted to my account after i got home, despite my leaving behind my own crown and anchor soda and water amenities on the dresser.

     

    Someone is pocketing water or money on that ship.

     

    they need to investigate what is happening on the anthem. Today i got another charge of 10.37 posted to my credit card this is getting ridiculous i have 5 more cruises booked on anthem and i am thinking twice about it.

     

    Guess when i cruise from now on i will only give cash and no credit card on file!!!!!!!!!!

  12. In the OP's case, it appears that the issue isn't one of being dinged for a bottle or two of water but for credit card holds which will disappear.

     

    Not only did the pending charges not drop off I got another charge for $10.70 that was not pending today 4 days after i got off ship. Customer service response was we are aware of this problem?????????

     

    They should do something about it if they are aware. Maybe after people vacate cabin someone is taking the bottled water??? Some investigation should be done

     

    Also should not have a credit card hold when I had a ZERO BALANCE. I EVEN HAD $2.09 CREDIT!!!!!!

     

    VERY FRUSTRATING TO COME HOME AND HAVE TO CALL TO HAVE THESE CHARGES TAKEN CARE OF. AS OF NOW THEY DID NOT TAKD CHARGE OFF.

     

    I WILL NEVER GIVE THEM MY CREDIT CARD AGAIN I WILL USE CASH!!!!!

  13. Just checked my credit card today and in addition to the other 2 charges we got on our credit card there was a charge for $10.27 that was not pending . What is going on with Royal is happening to too many people.

     

    I have another cruise booked on the Anthem and I will no longer give them my credit card. I will do cash only. Don't need to fight with them when I get home.. This is ridiculous. Someone is taking either water or minibar items and we are being charged.

     

    Sounds fishy to me and Royal should check out all these complaints!!!!!!!!!!

     

    I guess maybe a call to Miami Attorney General is warranted!!!!!!!!

    It was nice to see a familiar face again. I met you on the same cruise last year and I am the one who asked you in the D lounge if you had been on the Anthem last year.

    We had no extra charges on our bill, but a few people on the roll call did have the mystery charges.

     

    I do remember you from last year. I have never had this happen to me and can't believe how many people are getting charges on their credit card after they leave the ship.

     

    No matter what this should not happen. My final bill came by email 5 hours after I left the ship and said 0 balance.

  15. We just got off Jan 14 cruise on. Anthem. Had 2 charges. One for 11.98 and one for 22.95. We received our statement on ship and thru email when we returned home for zero balance.

     

    These are fraudulent charges and if it is happening to other people something must be done to see why this is happening.

     

    I will never give them my credit card again. I called RCCL AND THEY SAID COULD BE A CRDIT CARD HOLD UNTIL BILL PAID. HOW DO YOU PUT A HOLD ON A CREDIT CARD FOR A ZERO BALANCE

     

    I am taking this further. I have contacted Michael Baileys office and have them aware of what is going on. Customer Service has no clue

     

    I hope Royal is reading these posts. They are committing a crime by charging on accounts.
