I am so upset that the AOS is obviously in poor condition. I suppose that now I have to make the best of it, as we sail June 12, on the Baltic cruise. But poor conditions as have been described tend to actually make me ill; e.g., rust, smells, dilapidated seat cushions, old bathrooms, etc. Question: Aside from the disrepair conditions, is the ship clean? If the ship is clean, I think that I can handle it. Otherwise, I'd better go to the drugstore and get some nausea pills.

We have an uneven sized group and I wish they would allow six for the room and raise the price by $75. My family did it last year and they did not even spend ten minutes in the room. Having to rent an additional room makes it much more expensive for an odd sized group.
glad you enjoyed yourselves.
This summer (2014) we have a Day Pass at the Westin Dawn Beach Resort, and with prior approval the hotel is allowing a 5th guest to our party. The cost is an additional $25 plus tax & gratuity./mdnotmd, 3/30/14

Does anyone know what the Westin charges if you have 5 people instead of 4? Do you have to book a 2nd "room"? We have 4 adults + 1 kid.

Question: Does the Buccaneer have beach umbrellas? My husband really needs some shade at the beach & pool.

Good advice on port safety.

Well, fair enough! I'm in a quandary. I have The Shaping of Panama (to Panama City) booked, but am having second thoughts. I've considered, like you said, that we'll see the locks pretty "up close and personal," and we usually really enjoy getting a feel for the culture. With that said, if we felt more comfortable with going with a private tour, we probably would; but we're concerned about safety. Thank you for sharing. My quandary makes me think about going to Las Vegas and only planning to go to Hoover Dam! I'd NEVER do that ... although with additional time to spare, I liked seeing Hoover Dam!!!/mdnotmd

Another Question Re: Colon, Panama Excursions: If the choice is between going to Panama City on RCCL's The Shaping of Panama excursion and a private tour to the Gatun Locks and Portobelo, what is recommended? Thx, mdnotmd

Thank you so much, BillB48. Helpful!/mdnotmd

Has anyone done RCCL's "The Shaping of Panama" excursion, 7 hrs. including lunch: from Colon to Old Panama to Panama City by way of "Cinta Costera," the road alongside the sea; or a similar excursion?/mdnotmd

As someone who is sailing on the AOS on June 12, 2014, I must say "thank you so much for the reviews". They are quite useful, and I truly appreciate them.
