  1. Sorry to hear that so many did not enjoy Alaska. I have done at least 5 cruises. I enjoyed seeing how the towns have changed. My mother told me of dirt roads in a couple of the towns. We even took all Alaskan cruise where we had to take Zodiac boats ashore and get out in the ocean to reach the shore. We were visiting the Aleution Islands which is a very different type of cruising. I myself am getting tired of the Caribbean all the time. I generally stay on the ship when I am on a Caribbean cruise. Just nice to get away from the cold.

  2. The RSSC Navigator has eliminated the closed smoking lounge that was on deck 5. They have relocated the smoking area to a table next to the pool. Sadly for those of us that are allergic to smoke or just don’t like smelling cigarette smoke, the cigar and cigarette smoke wafts over the deck lounge chairs and even gets so far as the open pool buffet. We were so disappointed to not be able to use this area or elven eat here. The chair cushions were saturated with the smell. RSSC says they have no plans to move the “area.” Does anyone know if this a problem on Crystal, Siversea, or Seabourn?

Wow I sure enjoyed eating outside. Now I wont even walk outside as I hate walking thru the smoke. Will be terrible for those who suffer from asthma.

  3. Greetings from South Beach, Married49Years. DH and I are celebrating our 56th anniversary in March 2019. Our actual anniversary is March 9th, also my 80th birthday, but that day fell on day one of the 2019 trans Panama Canal LA/MIA. With unpacking, the muster and the general quality of life on boarding day, we thought it might not be the best choice for a celebration. Since we've done the Canal three times already, we opted for the March 2019 TA on Explorer. We will stay in Lisbon for a few days at the end of the cruise. We did the same itinerary last year, and enjoyed it enough to be repeating it next year. We like TAs and have sailed 14 so far. Our choice accommodation is PH. We booked this trip in December while on Explorer, selecting the same PH we were in at the time. There is plenty to do on sea days, and the ports are enjoyable. In truth, every dinner on Explorer is a celebration, so we will just add champagne to one. We will miss the little musical tribute in the morning, but we will survive.

The Explorer is a wonderful ship. Presently, it is our favorite. If you choose it, you will surely have a great time. If you decide on Explorer, you might like to sign on to its Roll Call. It's active.

    Mary

I too will be on the March TA on the Explorer. Regent is flyimg me back home Business class which is one reason I am taking this TA cruise. I have done several TA on the Queen Mary 2 and really enjoyed them. I anticipate a great cruise on the Explorer as I have on all my other Regent cruises. I did one from South Africa on the Voyager and had a fantastic time.
