Just 27 days until we board the Fantasy!!
-
Just wanted to sing the praises of our Oceanview Aft Cabin on the Fantasy this past weekend. Loved the peacefulness of being on a secluded hallway in the back of the ship. Only people coming down that hallway were the other 5 cabins back there or our steward. The view of the wake was lovely and the deep set window area was big enough to sit inside. We had 2 a/c units in the cabin as well.

Just got off the 4 day Fantasy to Cozumel from Mobile, AL yesterday. Formal night was on the 2nd night. It was a sea day so no worries about making it back to the ship in time to get changed for dinner. We were on Cozumel on the 3rd day from 8am-4pm. Had to be back to the ship by 3:30. They have a Blue Iguana Cantina on the Fantasy so you can get pork, chicken, or fish tacos and burritos for lunch everyday if you like. Fantasy also has Guys Burger Joint which we enjoyed trying out the different burgers a few times during the weekend. The chocolate buffet was on the last sea day before we got back to Mobile at lunchtime on the Lido deck. The bigger broadway style shows were 2 times a night at around 8:15pm and 10:00pm. We saw a show called Brits (music from english bands ie Rolling Stones, Beatles, etc) that was fun!!

Any hotels offer "just parking" rates? First time out of Mobile and we are looking for options besides just at the port. Parked off site for cruises out of Port Canaveral, Charleston and NO so wondering if anything like that is available yet here in Mobile?
-
We've done both ways now and I prefer keeping them seperate. I actually requested to have a king on our last cruise in September when we did the online check in but once we boarded and went to the room they were not together yet. There was more room to move around for the 4 of us that way so we just kept them apart.

Each passenger can bring one 12 pack of soda in their carry on luggage so be sure to grab some Dr. Pepper before boarding. :)
-
We were in Cozumel in Sept on the Triumph and the Fantasy was docked next to us at the Puerta Maya pier.

So happy they're back in Mobile...... 5 hour drive instead of 11 hours to Miami!!
Got a nice upgrade for our 10th anniversary cruise in mid-Jan, when the weather's at its worst in GA.
Super-excited!!!:)
We feel the same way. Port Canaveral, Jacksonville and New Orleans 7-8 hours was the closest. Gonna be so happy to cut that down by a couple of hours.

This was my first cruise, and boy was it a blast! The Motown show was really good and the singers were very talented. We were given free alcoholic drinks on the last night....I think pretty much everyone took advantage of that! Here are a few drink menu pics. Sorry if they're a little blury, I took them on the free drinks night:) I don't have any food menu pics, but I do have pics of the dishes I ordered if anyone is interested in those. I'll be happy to answer any other questions. Thanks to the wealth of information on this board, I didn't feel like a newbie at all!
So glad to hear you had fun. We are really looking forward to our fantasy cruise next month. You didn't save or take pictures of any funtimes by chance did you?

I believe the first set of passengers will be back in Mobile tomorrow. Hopefully some will post their reviews and if we are lucky maybe we can get a menu or funtime or two. :D
We are cruisin' the Fantasy on December 8th and can't wait!

Dec. 8, 2016 for us. Can't wait! 45 minute drive and we are there!
So glad they are back in Mobile.
December 8th for us too. Less than a month now. Whoooo hooo, can't wait. :)

There are 2 pools. The big one is beautiful. It's kinda enclosed with lots of trees. Very relaxing. The infinity pool is right next to the beach. It has a swim up bar. There is a hot tub off to the side. I don't believe it's actually heated though. No, the pools aren't heated. We always travel end of November, beginning of December. The weather is still pretty warm and the pool water feels great! The infinity pool is more the party pool, and the bigger enclosed pool is more family oriented. Google Park Royal Cozumel (Trip Advisor). Lots of photos. We will be there December 2.
We will be there December 10th. I really appreciate your responses as well as others. I think we are going to try it out. :)
Thanks again everyone!!

Thanks for the video! We sail on the Fantasy next month out of Mobile and are getting super excited.
Just off the Fantasy on Friday. Loved this cruise and ship. I will scan and post the fun times from our 4 day when I get a chance.Sent from my iPhone using Forums
Did you by chance post the fun times from your cruise?

Haven't tried El cid, but have been to Park Royal at least 6 times. Always had a blast. Love the infinity pool overlooking the cruise ships. Phenomenal snorkeling. Great drinks( bring your own Trevis tumblers ). Authentic Mexican cuisine at the indoor buffet with a decent wine selection. It's about a 15 minute walk as soon as you disembark the ship. Turn left when exiting the terminal. It will be on the right. You walk up the stone drive entrance and proceed to the open air guest service. Be careful not to get propositioned by "Time Share" people on your way trying to sell day passes for $10. Price is $40-$50 per person. Depends on the high, low season. You will often see ship personnel there. Never really crowded. Kinda like a well kept secret! Always fun walking back to the ship😜.
Sounds great. Thanks for all of that information. Do you remember if the pools were heated? Not sure how the weather will be in December when we are there but I'm starting to wonder if the pool might be a bit cool if they are not heated.

That's where I'm at - I'm wondering if we'll end up spending the same amount of money taking a taxi to a further because than just going all inclusive nearby.
More than likely you will. The cab ride I want to say was like $17 each way. Our bar and food bill was about $70 plus tip. I am thinking this time we'd rather just put that $100 towards an all inclusive day pass and stay closer to the ship. I'm leaning more toward the Park Royal at this point. They seem to have more fans of their pools and indoor buffet lunch.

We are trying to decide between the two as well. We did Mr. Sanchos last time they had an AI package but we just went with the pay as you go option. Drinks were priced decent and food was tasty. Hung out in the little pool area and lounge chairs most of the day. It was nice but we ended up paying more with the cab fare and individual pricing then the packages at El Cid and Park Royal so we are thinking we will just stick closer to the ship this time around.
Looking forward to more responses as to which of the 2 most people prefer. :)

Not Thursday but Monday Night Football while we were on the ship in Sept. They had the Saints/Falcons game on the big screen poolside.
-
We took the taxi there and paid as we went along. Bought our food/drinks/water sports separately. We weren't sure what all we would want to do but once there realized the place was very large and there was lots available. The beach was very nice, plenty of lounge chairs with palm tree covers. You can get as much shade or sun as you want. :)
-
We are going back and forth between booking El Cid La Ceiba and Park Royal. Both look very nice and both are within walking distance of the pier. The cost seems to be similar for the the AI package as well. Anyone here been and can give some insight. Is one better than the other?
-
Paradise Beach boasts they have the largest heated pool in Cozumel. Heated to 82 degrees in the winter time. I read on another thread it is about $17 each way for 4 passengers in a taxi.
-
We did Mr Sanchos last month and it was alright. There were 9 of us so we rented a van for $10 per person round trip. Pool was nice, drinks were plentiful although not very strong but I kind of expected that. Wasn't a big fan of the beachy area though. It was like a foot deep and then just dropped off to like 5-6 feet within a few steps.
We are going to check out either the Park Royal or El Cid La Ceiba Resort's day passes when we are back next month. Haven't made an official decision yet but they are both just a short walk from the pier and pictures online look very nice.

We ended up parking at the Fulton Place Garage. I booked online before heading to New Orleans. Had my husband drop myself and our kids at the cruise terminal with the luggage and then he went and parked. Just had to show his receipt in the email and was able to find a spot easily. The shuttle was quick, he said it was less than 5 minutes until he was on the way back to meet us.
