  1. For the price of $75 (on top of the food that you've paid for already in the dining room) there should be wine pairings and some higher quality wine.

They served Black Opal wine which I can buy for about $7 on sale - not exactly part of a fine dining experience.

The only thing I can think of is that the chefs have been trained as sommeliers and aren't capable or confident of their ability to successfully pair wines per course. That, or CCL didn't think anyone would notice.

  2. Lame games... like their "Cornhole" game?

I was taken aback when I first saw that on a Carnival ship, as I recall that word from my middle school days.

    so....

Just RENAME the darn game to bean bag toss or something... I can't be the only one whose eyebrows were raised as a result!

That's what we call it, Bean Bag Toss. I guess it's not as entertaining without a racy double entendre, but it's still a lot of fun, especially if you're two and a half sheets to the wind and there isn't a dart board in sight.

  3. now you're barking up the wrong tree. I still go to the same catskill "resort" that i first went to at the age of 1 back in the 50's.

10 cent bingo, horse racing, and all the rot, still. and the place is still packed every year.

Does Johnny still lead the tango at the End of Summer show? Do you also stick Baby in a corner? ;)

I like the ships where I can ignore the CD. :p

  4. wow maybe we should just eat in the MDR. Sit down order eat leave...seems better

It has extremely limited hours for meals other than dinner. In fact, it's not open for lunch when the ship is in port.

Believe it or not, most people actually do use common sense and display a modicum of good manners. It's not a total free-for-all. This issue, like all issues regarding standards of behaviour, gets blown out of proportion on the internet because no one wants to find out that they are rude when they believe they've been completely mannerly.

  5. There is a difference between quickly inserting yourself in line to grab one singular item and inserting yourself in line at various points to grab stuff.

And no, I'm not getting at the back of the line for just one item while people move from station to station, ponder the nutrional value of the food, and narrate their choices to the person next to them.

What's ruder? Jumping in line for one item, or holding up the entire line while you and Aunt Bertha debate the fiber content of french fries?
