Just to get this back on top, has anyone heard if Princess will be doing anything special for the sail away?
-
Thanks Nina, I did not think so but was hoping things had changed.
-
can you make speciality restaurant reservations on line prior to getting on ship?
-
You guys are way too funny (and yes, brings back memories, some not so clear now) but on the same topic........ I booked a 5 day just to cruise around the caribbean and I see that Princess now prints on the boarding pass the wine policy. One per person , no fee but any after that you pay a corkage EVEN if you drink it in your room. My question is: If you pay corkage when you board on the extra bottles, do you pay again if you take it to the MDR?

Question: I don't see sinks in the cabana photos.
Is there a spigot or anything available?
Or would you have to use the shower to wash your hands?
Do the cabana showers have hot water or just cold?
TIA
No sink but they do have a outside shower. I don't remember anything about hot water, think its just regular tap unheated. you need to make sure you get the pics of the 2 story jobs they have going on now. They make for one crowded beach. I was just there and spent the money for the very last one at the end and will never do it again.

I don't go to Margaritaville in Grand Turk or anywhere else for that matter. It's just a chain restaurant. I prefer the local joints.
Cheeseburger in paradise....umm, umm, umm!

I'm going on a HAL ship. I'm guessing one of the reasons the cost is more so you get to pick the one you want when you book it. You know the saying " you get what you pay for". Not so sure that is true in everything. :D

Thanks - I ended up booking the May cruise which is there from 9-5. I also rented a Cabana - YEA! Can't wait
Which one did you get? I'm going in November and I have the very last one booked. :)

Noooo! All the kids need to be down near the water park things! Cabanas #1-#7 are much, much better for families with small kids! Really! They are! Much better!!!
Please leave #8-#15 for us boring just-want-to-relax-and-have-lots-of-peace-and-quiet-away-from-the-noise-and-activity people! :p
For the record, I did email the excursion desk to ask if vests are included with the snorkel gear in the cabanas and were assured that they are. So that's one less thing to think about.
Yes yes yes, you took the words right out of my mouth! I love children, just not the day I pay for an OverPriced cabana and plan to relax in it. ;)

If you dont mind people sitting in front of you in those clamshell things, then 1-9 are for you. I'm glad we are down on the end. So I will have to walk a little farther for lunch, that's OK I can just eat more that way.:p

I like 15. Secluded.
Thats the one I have for November. I think it's violet. Just don't know why both lines can't call them the same, numbers and colors can be confusing. Some of the colors don't even look like that color:eek:
-
yes. they will honor the cabanas reserved a head of time on Carnival. I called carnival and they told me that it could no longer be done and assured me NO ONE on our ship had a cabana reserved already. Guess what? While in line at the shore excursion desk- a couple were there just to make sure thier reservation was still good because they did it! Yup- Carnival's word is good!! At least I got a good location though.
Which one did you get?

I think we all just need to go on a cruise and "chill". After all, isn't that the whole reason for a cruise? Not like it used to be: get from point A to point B 😍
-
Wait till almost time to go! Be the last to line up, what will they do, leave you, don't think so. I have never seen a ship leave with passengers still in line to reboard.😃
-
HAL makes it so easy. Of course, we are paying a price for that privilege.
Yes, it's not cheep. You get what you pay for! I didn't make the rule, I just just try to live by it and hope I have enought at the end when I take the final ship to the sky, penthouse I hope!
-
Pay top $ like you do on HAL and you can have your pick!
-
My husband and I did last year and it was worth it for us. Very relaxing and away from the crowds. We had one that had trees around so had plenty of shade. They have ac and a door if you want to change.
-
I called HAL and was told they would be up on the site at the end of May, first of June. I'm sailing in November.
-
Has anyone on future cruises been able to reserve a cabana yet?
-
so it looks like Carnival has decided to allow people to book the Cabanas for HMC online now. When we went to HMC last year we couldnt book the cabanas online, only once on board the ship. BUMMER that they changed this policy. I figured we had to wait to board to book then I see it today on the carnival site for HMC excursions...and of coarse it says SOLD OUT!!! Oh that bums me out! I had planned to book one for my wife and I since this is our wedding vow renewal cruise and I wanted the wife to get a cabana. Ugggghhhhh
Hope this helps

Holland America lets you book a specific color ahead of time.
I'm going on HAL but I read somewhere "don't quote me" that carnival now lets you do it on line as well. From what I understand the high #'s are at the end of the beach, less people and the low #'s are in the action (if you like tons of beach chairs between you and the water) # 10 and #9 are by the bathroom, if you don't care to walk much. Just my 2 cents.

According to this post, Cabana 11 is Grey

Thanks, that helps - #13 looks sort of brownish!!!
-
Do a search. Several threads will come up with the numbers and colors.
I tried everything including "search". Just don't understand why they make it so hard! Number / color, can't we all just get along? This should be fun, RIGHT?:)
-
I'm sorry if this question has been answered already, i just can't find it, if it has. When you book a cabana on the web, you are asked to book "a color". I understand the higher numbers are at the end of the beach, but how do you know what # goes with the color. I watched the video and have a few but want to know color of #13 and 11. HELP!

i can sure think of a long list of worst places to be standing in line! The ship wont leave without you.....;)
