  1. Could folks let me know their experiences with the wifi while on board, I have a lot of trouble sleeping and sometimes watching some TV at night helps me relax.  Do I need the most expensive wifi option to be able to watch Netflix?  They only let you keep movies for 7 days, so anything I have downloaded and saved will be gone the last few days of our cruise.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  2. Just looking for some hotel recommendations for our night before Carnival Cruise in Miami.  Shuttle from airport and/or cruise port would be wonderful, but hoping to find something nice but reasonably priced.  I realize I am asking a lot, so in order of preference: clean nice hotel maybe 4 star, airport shuttle and we could uber to port if necessary, but would hope to be somewhat nearby to port.  Your help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

  3. Is it safe to assume Carnival will accept Astra Zeneca vaccine?  I am from the US, I know Astra Zeneca was not used as much as the other two in the US, my first two vaccines were Astra Zeneca, I did get Pfizer for the booster.  Just want to be safe, seems Carnival covid “be safe” protocol does not mention AstraZeneca.

  4. Help.  Re Covid testing, does Rapid Antigen test work for Carnival or do we need PCR because we are told PCR can take 3-5 days to get results.  Second question:  I tried to sign up at CVS and once I answered their questions, no exposure or symptoms, they said I did not qualify for a free test.  If you need test for travel, do you need to pay for the test?  Will Medicare reimburse us?  Thanks for any help you folks can give us!

  5. We are sailing on the Panorama soon and I was curious how the tv speakers work on the equipment.  Do you connect headphones with Bluetooth or do you need to bring headphones that will plug directly into the treadmill tv? If so, what type of plug in do you need?  Also, do they have scales on the ship?  I lost a lot of weight recently and I want to keep a close eye if I start gaining to keep my weight in check. Thanks

  6. We just checked in for the Panorama in January and got the earliest boarding time available, 12:30,  but does anyone know what the "boarding zone" is referring to at Long Beach cruise port? I don't remember seeing that on previous cruises.  It also looks like it says they will only accept your larger luggage from 12:30-1:30 and anyone arriving after 1:30 will need to carry ALL their luggage on themselves.  This could lead to the bulk of the over 4000 passengers arriving between 12:30-1:30 and that sounds like a logistic nightmare to me, but with no experience with the Long Beach terminal, it may be just fine.  Also, we must check out of the Queen Mary by 11am and with no car, not sure what to do between 11-12:30 other than just stand outside the terminal, I hear there are no restaurants near the Queen Mary?

  7. WiFi question-while on carnival, if you purchase the lowest option wifi package will it be useful? or is the lowest option going to make it difficult or impossible to connect most of the time?  just looking for input from folks who have had good or bad luck with connecting to wifi with the 3 different levels.  thanks

  8. We will be on the new carnival panorama in a few months.  As I am currently on weight watchers and don't want a sad surprise on the scale when we get home, so I was wanting to have access to the WW app while on the ship to make better food choices.  Does anyone have any experience with  the internet offered by  carnival?  I don't need a lot of internet access, just the WW app as I am not concerned with facebook etc.  Is the internet on the ship reliable or sketchy?  would the speed or access on social vs. value vs. premium plans make a large difference? so if I only got the social (lowest) package option, would I be ok? It is cheaper to purchase before we get on the boat so I need to make a decision soon.  Any insight or experience with the internet would be greatly appreciated!

  9. We are looking for the best way to get from Houston Hobby airport to Galveston. We are arriving the day before our cruise in February. Not sure if best to stay in Houston that night and travel to Galveston the next morning? but after reading several threads that mention shuttles not showing up is it best to get to Galveston the night before and take a cab to the pier? We have an early boarding time. Any advice/past experiences would be helpful.
