  1.

(I lead dive groups on cruises and do a lot with Carnival).

So you are a dive master or an instructor?

And, since you obviously dive a lot, you have your own equipment, do you bring it with you on each of the cruises or do you rent?

I have been diving a long time (but only ever got certified to rescue... well and NITROX) but hesitate to bring all my gear on a cruise where you get such little space to start with.

    How do you handle it?

  2. they just called me for my cruise on sunday .. to go from aft to the grand suite for 700 for the 2 of us for a week .. hmmmm but we are b2b and dont really want to move ... darn them !!!!!!

So if you're on a B2B in the same cabin you can leave your stuff in the room? Huh, I would have guessed they would make you pack up and get off, just to get back on and unpack, which of course doesn't make sense which is probably why they would make you do it.

Learn something new each time I read this forum.

  3. As the others, I am sorry to hear you're boys didn't like the camp, we are leaving next week for our cruise and all my 8-yo daughter talks about is going to the camp. Of course it will only be in the evenings and during sea days but it will be up to her. She went when she was 5 and had a great time... and as you point out, it could be completely different from boys to girls.

I do agree, reading aloud a book is more geared toward the lower end of the age range but the other part of me thinks I like that better than just having them veg in front of a TV or playing non-stop video games (which my daughter would do without complaint, unfortunately).

We are going to try to do some family things together with the camp as they happen, hopefully that will improve interest as well.

We too are looking forward to some couple time (and at least one night at the steak house).

  4. Hello Everyone..

We are cruising on the Freedom in March, there are 4 of us and have an Ocean Suite. I have read some reviews and some say that it will hold 4 adults and some say it wont. Has anyone had a OS with 4 adults?

    :)

We have been in a O.S. twice but not on the Freedom, in both cases beds 3 and 4 were either a converted sofa (bottom single) and a single that drops from the ceiling, think of them as bunk beds without the bunk

I think that so long as there are not a majority of... hmm... larger adults, you should be fine... now the whole bathroom sharing thing... well that's a different story :D

    Have fun!

  5. Eh, I think money is relavent to how much you have... cars are a great example (besides clothes/jeans), can anyone really justify spending $100k or more for a car, yet they are out there in pretty big numbers.

    To each their own...

And always remember the other golden rule, "Those with the gold, make the rules."

  6. We have been on two Carnival and going on our third... the first (Alaska) we booked a suite and didn't get a call/e-mail. The second we did get a call and took the deal (upgrade from a balcony to O.S. for $100 each or $300 total).

The cruise coming up, I got an e-mail for an upgrade to a Jr. Suite for $200 each ($600 total), needless to say, I didn't respond.

If they call for an upgrade for a suite for $300 or less, I will take it, any more than that, I will stick with the balcony.

  7. With this additional incentive we might go with the cheers package. Since my wife and I are in the same cabin  we both have to get the cheers program which means $100 per day... That's a lot.

Really been struggling with this, you can have a 1 liter bottle of your favorite libation delivered to your cabin each day for about $75 to $80.

Over a 7 day cruise we would save $20 per day or $140 and I am not sure if we could drink a liter per day between the two of us... Some days for sure but unlikely on port days.

I guess the question is whether or not the casino match is worth the extra $20 per day.

Ugg I hate having to try to think logically on vacation

  8. Hawkwynd welcome aboard !!! Thank you so much for offering to be a host cabin for the poker crawl we really do appreciate that. Suzi will just need your cabin number so she can make up the crawl sheets !

As far as the Cocktail party I have to say your 8 yr old probably can not be with you. I would imagine she enjoys Camp Carnival though yes ? I have looked in on those Camps that they have and often wished they would let me in to play with them for awhile.

Also after the Cocktail party we are planning to have some adult slide fun...;)

    Ok, fair enough.

Cabin number is 1101 (right next to the beauty salon on the Spa deck).

We will get the payment over to the paypal account later today.

    Thanks, we can't wait!!

  9. Hey...

We are joining you on the 8th for the second half of the B2B!!

    Wayne, Laurie and Grace.

We are interested in the poker crawl and if you need another cabin, we can help with that too (we are on deck 11) which is not the easiest to get to but there you go.

Laurie and I are also interested in the cocktail party but are not sure if our daughter can be with us (she is 8), so if not, that's fine but if so, we will get our participant fee over to your paypal account asap.

Getting close now, we are really looking forward to it!!
