I have high confidence. Georgia's governor just announced that hair salons, barbers and gyms may re open this Friday. In dining restaurants will be able to open on the 27th.  Finally a light at the end of this nightmarish tunnel.

It doesn't appear that AL's gov is ready to make any announcements.  Our stay-at-home order expires Apr 30 at 5pm.  She has set up a task force on reopening.  The Lt Gov is on that task force and has recommended opening small businesses, hair/nail salons before Apr 30.  But that's all it is so far...a recommendation.  I am hopeful that those businesses can open before Apr 30, but who knows.  We are just waiting to see what happens.  So looking forward to this cruise!!!

  2. When my family was cruising on the Dream in 2015, my DS had planned to propose to his GF on the cruise. He chose to propose on elegant night in the MDR after all of our family had left. It was special, that on this evening, the photographers were coming around taking pics of everyone and were able to capture the special moment for them! Of course, she said yes!

  3. We’ve been to Paradise Beach twice and really enjoyed it. Admission is only $3 per person which entitles you to a chair at the pool or beach. You can buy food and drink and a “fun pass” to use things like kayaks, inflatables, etc.

You can easily get taxis at the port and they cost around $15.

There is a beach near the port, but Paradise Beach is so much nicer.

Thanks. I will have to check out this place.

  4. Thanks for all of your input. We rarely get snow, so I don't see that as a problem. However, I know there are other things that could slow us down on the interstate...car trouble, wrecks, highway construction. We will be headed to Mobile and must pass through Birmingham. If you have driven on I-65 South through the Birmingham area, you have encountered "Malfunction Junction". So we will drive down the day before and be up and ready to go on embarkation day!!!

  5. We have been on 4 cruises and are planning our 5th for February 2019. Since all of our previous cruises have departed 8 - 15 hours away, we have always driven to the port city the day before departure. This time, the port is only 5 hours away. Just wondering your thoughts on this trip. Should we plan to drive down the day before and stay the night, or should we save the cost of the hotel and drive down the day of departure?

  6. My family and I are going on the Dream in Aug to Grand Cayman. Has anyone used a taxi or public transportation to get around the island?

  7. Looking forward to more of your review! DH and I will be on the Dream on Aug 30 to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. We'll be on deck 7 in our first balcony. What was your itinerary?

  8. We are sailing August 16

We were stuck between the 16th and the 23. The 23rd sailing went to Belize which we really wanted but the wedding package that we wanted was already booked on that date so we opted for the 16th

And congrats on the wedding anniversary!

Thanks! Hope you have a wonderful cruise to begin your life together. Please write a review of your cruise when you return! :)
