  1. You put your luggage outside your stateroom on the last evening of the cruise and the next time you see it is at your destination airport.

Is this different from putting your bags out the night before and gathering them once you get off the ship? Please excuse my lack of knowledge, but if this is true (that I don't need to see luggage until our final airport) it would be awesome! And it would effect how I pack a bit (i.e. Fluid sizes). How do you participate in luggage valet??

  2. Day 2 in Review:

Today was Nassau, Bahamas. We had to be at the station at 745 for an 8 o'clock departure per our ticket.

We headed to Starbucks for a quick drink and snack. There were a lot of people there with the Royal Replenish and Ultimate package who were surprised it was not included.

We headed down. The line was long but very quick. We met at station one which was about 2 min walk. We waited until about 815 to walk to the boat which was at the end of the pier. It was a long walk there. We got on the boat and were on it for about 30 minutes.

We arrived at Blue Lagoon. The water is the clearest I've seen.

The encounter was fun. I expected a bit more from it. More touching and interacting but either way it was a cool experience with sea lions. Although I have no photos of them, I do of dolphins as they were there as well.

When we got back, we went straight for lunch. We went to (idk the name) the pizza place. We created our own and it was pretty good.

Then we happened to walk by the spa and saw they were running a special for "Top to Toe" so we signed up for that. It was absolutely amazing and so relaxing. Very good.

Tonight was formal night! We dressed in the middle I would say. We saw a few ball gowns. Many dresses and then people with ripped jeans and flip flops. We wore dress pants, heals, and nice top and felt we were dressed appropriately.

Our waitress was fantastic tonight. We arrived at 830 and left at 925! Great dinner.

For an appetizer I had the Roasted Carrot salad. I did not like this. The arugula had the chemically taste and I found it inedible. My sister had the seafood pastry which she loved.

I see by your picture of the menu that lobster and filet Mignon are offered for this first formal night, but I see a number after the listing...... Does this mean there is an up charge to have these menu items while dining in the MDR?

  3. My family and I will be in San Juan on a short stop (7a-2p) at the end of July. I have read multiple threads about how it is walkable (yet hot and humid), and there is a free trolley to assist in transportation. Since we will be arriving in Oasis, can someone tell me if there is a map that can be obtained (either from the ship or a tourist info place near the cruise port) to aid in directions? We would like to try to see the forts and experience some of the city.

Is there anything that is a must see for a 9year old boy and 6year old girl?? (I think the fortresses would be fascinating for them). Anything else we should be sure to see?

I'm not expecting we will be off the ship right when it docks, and I'd like to be back on the boat about an hour before it leaves, so I'm thinking we'll have 5 hours-ish......

    Thanks for your info!!

  4. Thank you for your review of the cruise -- it is always interesting to see others' points of view; as a fellow passenger I can attest to the crazy heat and humidity during this cruise (San Juan in particular).

    For those inquiring:

I have all the compasses and kids compasses on hand ready to start scanning today depending on how work goes.

I would love to see these.... On Oasis in about 30 days! Will you post them here in this thread??

  5. There is a 30%off offer for my cruise (Oasis July 23, 2016). I'm trying to decide what the difference is between SURF and SURF & STREAM. Is it just a speed difference, or can you really not do text on just the SURF package since text isn't listed on the description of the packages.

Also, what is the regular price of Internet? Others have mentioned that there have been BOGO (free?) offers as well. Debating on 30%off for just my husband's phone vs waiting for a BOGO free for both of my husband and my phone.

    Thanks for your insight!

  6. We are planning a beach day when Oasis stops here on our cruise. I'm wondering what is the best way to obtain a floating mat for the day. If I "order" it online where do I pick it up, and do I have to schlep it to the beach we choose..... Or are they readily available on each beach? If so, I would assume I would need to pay with cash, or does your seapass work to charge it?

    Thanks for your help!

  7. I will be on this sailing as well. I have cruised before, but it has been 5 years. Is there a set date for then the show schedule will be available? Also, since I'm traveling with my children (9 and 6), is it possible to eat in the main dining room at the 6:00 seating and still make the earlier show? (Also to be mentioned our total group size is 26 for dinner- which in thinking they will divide us up into smaller tables and just seat us nearby).
