Aren't most kids in school during the dates the promotion is running?

I don't really think there is any specific problem with these ships. I was on the Breakaway last June to Bermuda and had no problems and a wonderful time!
What I do think is that these two ships are geared more towards the younger crowd and kids. When kids are in school cruising becomes a problem as most parents won't take their kids out of school for that long. In addition, although I'm going on the Getaway in May I HATE the itinerary. St. Maarten, St. Thomas and Nassau. Unless this is one's first cruise.....who hasn't already been to these Islands more than once already?!

That's a possible reason, though for me the ship itself is the destination and why I sail itineraries more than once. I just like the sailing experience, being out at sea and exploring a new ship. Sometimes I don't even get off the ship at port.

I got a good price on this category room which is a mini-suite with large balcony on deck 8. Anyone have any thoughts, good or bad, on the location, balcony etc?I have to make final payment in a few weeks and wanted some feedback before doing so. Thanks for your help! :)

Thanks for the photos folks! I am considering one of these rooms on The Getaway. Any more photos, living area, bathroom would be appreciated.

I'm booked on a May 2014 sailing on The Getaway. This thread is seriously making me wonder whether or not I need to cancel before my final payment is due and re-book on another cruise line. I am not overly sensitive to second hand smoke, but do not want to be exposed to a stale smell throughout many parts of the ships non-smoking areas.
I've sailed with RCCL, Princess and Celebrity and have never had issues with second hand smoke in non-smoking areas of their ships. A friend of mine sailed on Breakaway a few months back, and did say the presence of stale smoke was noticeable in many areas of the ship. In fact, he said he noticed it as soon as he stepped on board.
It's ashame. I'm was very excited about experiencing a new cruise line and a brand new ship as well. Decisions, decisions.......

So do I understand this correctly? This particular specialty restaurant only allows you to order one entree? You can't try an additional? I know on previous sailings with different cruise lines, their specialty dining venues allowed you to try several appetizers, entrees and even desserts if you wanted to. Just curious....

Wow!! Thats an amazing deal! I'm booked in a Mini-suite with large balcony, category M6, and didn't get anything but a $50 stateroom credit. I'll have to research this for sure!
Pack up the kids. They're cruising for free

I'm on a May 17 Getaway sailing and the promotion is being offered. Thought that was school time. Guess the kids will get a 5 day break from class.
