  1. Hello there, our Greek islands cruise on the Oosterdam, docks at 07:00 on Sept 2nd in Trieste, I have been trying to find out what time the bus ground transportation to Venice airport leaves the Trieste Cruise port. My flight leaves at 12:40PM

    HAL cannot give a time the ground transportation leaves the port, only it will take approx. 2 hours, they suggest flights after 1:00 PM

    Has anybody used this service and advise what time it traditionally departs the port?

    Many Thanks

  2. Hi all, I posted a question regarding PCR test's post debarkation at New Orleans. The post was moved to "Gulf Ports," so I guess not many folks saw it.

    My question was Rapid PCR test's at New Orleans after docking on Dec 9th. We were prepared to spend an post cruise night in NO hotel in addition to a pre-cruise night, but the below cost is high.

    After numerous e-mails, calls and searches,  here is what I have found so far, if anyone can confirm alternate options, I would be grateful.

    NO CVS nor Walgreens offer RT-PCR test's, Several clinics offer for residents and current customers only.

    NOLADoc called back today with the following options;

    • Health tech to visit your hotel room before 11:30 AM to get results later in day at a cost of $400.00 USD per person, alternatively, drive to their office where a technician will come out and swab everyone in the vehicle at a cost of $300 USD per person.

    Being a limited cruise port, there are not a lot of Rapid Test PCR options for Canadians, there are o several offering 48-72 hour results.

    If anyone has found other options, please advise

    Cheers

  3. Have been googling and searching CC for Rapid PCR testing locations in New Orleans for international cruisers on Carnival post cruise. The options are limited, compared to the major cruise ports. One option is Noladoc at $200 USD + Visit fee before 11:30

    Has anyone been able to find and book a testing location for Rapid PCR test? We have changed our return home flight by one day to accommodate.

    Thanks All

    Comments: 1.) aft storage closets almost directly across, all rear cabin stewards used this locker for towels, sheets, supplies, vacuums etc. constant noise, wheeled carts, dirty dishes carts. After evening cabin refresh/ makeups, vacuuming hallways;

    2.) Strong sewer smell in bathroom upon embarkation, noted to steward whom came by and cleaned/ chemically treated all drains, smell was a constant, albeit at a lower level due to daily drains cleaning by the Steward.

    3.) Cabin steward was very accommodating, polite and helpful.

  5. I am just been curious on how frequently Carnival cruiser's get called for an up-sell.

    This is our 7th cruise with Carnival, and 2nd up-sell call, first call 2 years ago, was to upgrade to a GS.

    This time we were called, and offered what they refer to as "the owner's suite" on the Fascination (aka Penthouse). If you are interested, they send email with pictures.

    Have cruised on other lines, but not received calls.

  6. Hi all, I have just disembarked the Regal Princess cabin M108 today in Venice. I can tell you the balcony size is amazing, at It's widest point, is 41 feet, the narrowest point is 8 feet but because of the shape is also 21 feet deep in places. There are no restrictions on accessing the balcony, and was only too windy to use one day.

    the metal balcony was not an issue for us, neither was the privacy. The approaches to ports, especially Venice was amazing.

    There is no forward observation balcony on this class of ship, so all of the M and L forward cabins were unique

    Have cabin and balcony pictures if anyone needs,

  7. Hi All, I am curious on the Princess Shore excursion policy.

    On the August 18th Regal sailing through the Med, I had reserved 6 Princess excursions, they are listed on my personalizer for the price at when I reserved, but looking now on the excursion options listings, I have noticed that 3 of them have increased by $20 per couple ( Rome by train, Istanbul including Bosphorus cruise, & The Best of Athens).

    Is this a case of supply and demand for these excursions? and, does Princess honor the original price at time of booking the excursions?

    Thanks

  8. Hi Maddies Mom, I have corresponded last month directly with SteveInca, as I am booked in the same cabin as Steve, M108, here is a portion of our conversation;

    Hi Paul,

    Definitely would book the corner/forward facing cabins because they do have some protection winds on side balcony.

    The steward never locked the balcony off and not sure if there was a way for him to lock it.

    We loved the configuration of M108 with truly separate living room, bedroom and hallway. We truly enjoyed being able to sit in bed and watch the ocean/sky out in front of us. Also waking up opening the curtains and the beautiful port vistas the morning of port days"

    Know you wanted a direct answer, but was waiting from your earlier post to see if anyone else answered.

    I am not worried.:)

  9. Hi All, apologize in advance if I have missed a previous thread on this. Has anyone out there booked these cabins M107 / M108 on the Royal Princess and regretted the choice? This is my first Princess cruise, ( booked on the Regal Princess August 18th) so a little apprehensive on the potential "limited balcony access"

    Many Thanks to all who reply

  10. About 6 years ago, we did an excursion on the Panama Railway company, we boarded a cruise passengers only railcar from Colon, and crossed the Isthmus to Panama City on the Pacific, only approx. 56 miles, it follows the banks of the canal wherever possible. We stopped at the Mira Flores Locks and went to the observation deck to watch the transit of the ships. Then a coach tour in Panama, on the way back to Colon, we had some Panamanian girls entertain all of us. We still had time to look around the Markets upon return. It was a good day
