  1. I haven't time to watch now, but hoping to find this link easily tomorrow. Thinking of booking this cruise for 2019 or 2020 while onboard in March. From the Celebrity site it seems that Oman is not included in April 2019, and the cruise ends in Dubai, rather than Abu Dhabi. My pre-perception of India is similar to yours, so great to hear you found something special there. Looking forward to seeing and listening to your masterpiece tomorrow.

You will love this cruise! Be aware that the cruise we were on was very popular. If you want a specific room, you might want to book earlier.

Too bad they skip Oman. We found that country much more charming than the UAE.

I can imagine why they end the cruise in Dubai. The distance between both ports was very short and many people already left the ship in Dubai because of the better flights out of there. However we were glad we did Abu Dhabi. Celebrity had a special offer where you could stay on board until noon (with lunch at the Ocean View). After lunch they did a tour to the major sights and attraction. The tour ended at the airport. This was a very nice way to end the cruise.

  2. Happy new year to you all and thanks for the kind words!

We didn't do much in Singapore because my partner felt miserable after the long flight. Had a very nice hotel room though with beautiful views (Fairmont hotel) so we enjoyed that :-)

Our favorite ports were a big surprise to us! We booked this cruise because we love the Constelation, because it was long (15 nights) and because of the unique itinerary but we were anxious about going to India. The Indian ports ended up as our favorite while we didn't like Dubai.

Before this cruise we feared India would be too dirty and chaotic for us and expected Dubai would suit us much better. Well... India was indeed dirty and chaotic but also had a unique atmosphere and the most friendly people ever! Dubai felt too artificial. We also loved Thailand BTW.

  3. I love the concept of Eden!

The entertainment makes me think of Elryia, the late night production show on Constellation. I think that's the best show ever!

  4. We started cruising with Disney but switched to Celebrity and will probably stick with them, mostly because of their Aqua and Suite Class.

We're in our mid 30's, no kids.

The shows on Disney were definitely superb (we're Disney fans), but very family oriented. We love Elyria on the Constellation, you'll never see that on Disney :-)

I really liked the adult only pool and the beach at Castaway Cay.

Service is very good on both lines.

We prefer Celebriy because of Blu/Luminae: feels much more like a "real" restaurant, you can go when you want and (important to us) get a table for two.

We also prefer the bars at Celebrity and the more contemporary/adult atmosphere in general.

Now if we take my godson we'll definitely do Disney again.

  5. Cruise Critic has many members from around the globe. I hope that some would share their view of the ad. I have a sneaking suspicion that the international passenger might be a target audience for this type of ad. Just a guess: Celebrity might have considered that some would leave Celebrity because of their political perceptions, but they would be more than replaced by non US based passengers.

I had to watch the ad twice before getting the political message:-)

First of all I love the ad. I think it can only help to improve the image of the US in Europe. The message we get from one of the candidates now isn't very welcoming.

In general people here are following the elections with much more interest than usual, fearing about ideas like building walls etc.

I really like the message in this commercial and think most Europeans do.

  6. My partner and I are in our mid 30's, hope that still counts as young :-)

We took our first cruise with X 4 years ago and love it! We also love most of the recent changes, like the new entertainment. Elyria for example was fantastic!

X is definitely the cruise line of our choice because of their modern but still classy approach. Guess thats called modern luxury:-)

where we see room for improvement:

    - last year we booked a suite to try Luminae. Bit too stuffy for us. Back to Aqua :-)

    - as others suggested, breakfast end ridiculously early

    - an adult only pool (open air) would be nice

  7. We've tried both and prefer Blu, definitely as a daily option.

Luminae was very nice, we've had some exceptional meals there, but the food was too heavy to our liking.

Service was very comparable (we didn't make special requests in either, I can imagine they go further in Luminae)

Decor in Luminae was very nice but Blu feels more modern and light.

  8. We're also big AQ/Blu fans! Last summer we upgraded to a suite to try Luminae. It was lovely, but we prefer Blu. The food is much lighter and I also prefer the decor. It feels more modern to me.

Of course it was nice to have the extra space in the suite, but the Aft A1 balconies on the M-class ships are quite amazing as well.

I would even doubt if they offer me a SS in a less preferable location for free.

  9. I am Belgian, live 30 minutes from Brussels and have many friends there. What happened this morning is terrible...

Please don't let this scare you and keep visiting our wonderful little country. You don't want to miss our beer, fries and chocolate :)
