  1. We have a large on board credit on an upcoming cruise. Can we get cash at the casino and have the charge applied to our room and then use the on board credit to pay for it?

Do you mean you want to cash out your OBC during your cruise so you can spend at ports? If so, there are many posts mentioned how you can cash out at casino from your OBC. I have not done this so I can't comment.

However, if you mean you want to get the cash at the end of your cruise for any unused OBC, the answer is if the OBC is refundable, they will give you a refund at the Guest Services Desk.

My family and I just came back from our cruise. The night before the debarkation day, I came to the Guest Services Desk to close out my account, and Carnival gave us cash for all unused (refundable) OBC.

  2. Yes, you can reserve it in advance. I contacted Dreams 3 weeks ago with the same question and received the response below.

Thank you for your enquiry, it will be my pleasure to assist you today.

Our resort does offer day passes, they cost $60 per adult (12 and above) children under 2 are free and children between those ages get 50% off, this is payable upon arrival via cash or credit card.

The pass is valid between the hours of 10.30am-5pm and entitles you to our all-inclusive plan including food and drinks as well as the use of our pools and beach area, this does not entitle you to a room or to our preferred club,

    ID is mandatory

We do not provide transportation, however taxis are readily available at the port, prices are usually $50-$60 for a round trip

If this is of any interest to you please do not hesitate to contact me and I can arrange on your behalf

  3. I booked my family cruises via a travel agent. The reason for that is they offer cash back credit after the cruise, and they act very quick with regard to price drop adjustments.

This agency opens 24/7. No matter what time of the day I called to request for a price drop, I got to talk to an agent right away, who immediately called Carnival to confirm the price adjustment. The longest time I had to wait on the phone was 10 minutes. That's it.

For my family upcoming cruise in June, we received $1200 OBC from price drop and about $175 cash back credit from the travel agency after the cruise. So for me, booking with a travel agency is a win-win situation.

  4. Thank you all for your responses. It helps.

To be honest, my family don't cruise that often (this is our 2nd one in 4 years.) On our last trip, we skipped the steak house mainly because we knew the kids wouldn't enjoy the steak that much. Now they are 11 and 7 years old, we want them to enjoy the food and the experience.

I appreciate the honest comments from some posters that kids shouldn't be in the steak house. I completely understand what you mean. Fortunately, my husband and I don't have the problems that some other parents have. Every time we take our kids to a formal event, they make us look so good as parents because of their table manners.

We will try the steak house this time. Happy cruising everyone!

  5. Were you able to stay in the cabins originally booked? My TA said I would lose the cabin I have and Carnival would then assign me one....

There are 2 promotions going on right now. One allows you keep your room while the other (cheaper a little bit) doesn't allow you to choose your room (Carnival will assign a room for you.)

  6. In my case, OBC showed up immediately right after I talked to my travel agent. When I called she put on hold and called Carnival on the other line. One she confirmed Carnival had adjusted my cruise, I went to Carnival's website to review my Booking Summary and saw the OBC listed right below the Itemized Charges (on Page 3).

  7. That is 100% correct. If the current offer, you are trying to book, does NOT include OBC, you will lose whatever you currently have.

We have the $150 OBC from the sale, also.

The kids travel free, is a rip off...

Costs more than what we have currently booked, and includes ZERO OBC.

    Keep what you have.:D:D:D

Cannot agree with you more. I'll keep my $150 OBC which I got thank to your information last week. :)

  8. Please share your thoughts...

I booked Early Saver. Last week, there was a promotion "4 Day Go Sail" which offered $150 OBC (for balcony stateroom), very similar to the Summer Go Sail happening right now. I called and received the OBC. That was last week. Yesterday, I called my travel agent asking if I could take the benefits of the Kids Sail Free promo. However, my agent said that if I did that, Carnival would take back the $150 OBC because the Kids Sail Free doesn't have any OBC.

That's what the agent told me. Is that correct?

    Thanks for your inputs.

  9. :D:D

The 4 day Go Sail rate, that just started today, had the same fare rules as the promotion we booked under, but gave us $150 in OBC. Total rate stayed the same, but that is FINE.

Thanks for the free money, Carnival:D:D

Thank you so much! I just got $150 OBC as well.

  10. My husband and I do not pull our kids out of school for family vacations. However, I have seen my friends' families do it.

For us, it's not that we don't want to save money, it's because it's too much for our kids to catch up after the vacation. Also, it's not fair for the teachers for the extra work they have to do to accommodate the family.

Whatever other families decide to do, it's their choice; we just don't do it.

  11. Does it matter if you used a travel agent in the original booking?

If you booked through a travel agent, you would need to contact your travel agent who would contact Carnival to adjust the price.

When I called my travel agent, she put me on hold and called Carnival on the other line. After a few minutes, she came back and confirmed that Carnival did adjust the price. Then she sent me an updated invoice right away showing the adjusted final payment amount.

  12. My fear is this giving small kids the idea of doing this at pools, parks, and playgrounds.

The first time this commercial was aired, my children (11 & 7 yrs old) called out loud at the same time: you CAN'T do that.

It's common sense. Public waterparks or Carnival cruise: one person at a time.

I don't see kids making a big deal out of it, if they are told NO. It's the parents whom I am afraid of.
