  1. I get it you all...and I know it sounds insane since I literally lead a team that books travel each and every day for air, hotels, cruises, and tour companies.  I understand yield management and pricing manipulation.  The ONLY reason I put it here and get so angry is that at some point it just is nice to voice your anger and find some people that feel the same...then you move on LOL

This isn't ruining my day and I"m happy with the price...I just think they're a bunch of you know what's in the revenue departments of travel and tourism companies overall LOL.  To be fair...people get on board or checked in to these flights, hotel rooms, and staterooms and immediately look for things wrong to complain about and get money back as well...so the consumer isn't any better I guess

    It is what it is.

  2. Royal Caribbean Group overall need to respect their consumers and not act like the consumers are absolute idiots.  I monitor pricing and noticed that prices last night went up...conveniently right before the launch of Black Friday...about $880 total above what we paid a month ago.  Today's price, with 75% off the second guest and $300 discount, took $80 off yesterday's total, but still $800 above what I paid a month ago

Just don't do a sale if you're going to treat the consumer like idiots laughing from your revenue computers in corporate offices.  It's insulting and such a disgusting money grab to literally charge more during one of your "biggest sales of the year" than during a normal time period.  I work in travel myself for a large travel company and have worked in revenue for a large hotel brand and know the game, but this seems egregious.  At least when we'd do sales they were real sales off the purchase price.  I never noticed manipulation of pricing on our rates before a sale to keep the revenue the same if not higher than normal times.

Maybe I'm just incensed and it's just me...but I just wish they would respect the consumer.  I know...I know...it's a huge ask in today's capitalist world.

I am quite surprised that all of these show as options seeing as they've been sold out since the middle of October.  I'm not getting my hopes up as this is a holiday sailing and the boat looks to be sold out aside from Sky Suites.  I've won all of my upgrades in the past...so this cruise may break that streak LOL!

  3. Hello Everyone!

My partner and I are heading out on Apex on November 18th to the Eastern Caribbean.  Really excited as we just had our first snow here in Denver last night and the Caribbean sounds just right before heading back home to ski for the season!

We booked so last minute that all we could grab that was available was a Deluxe Inside Cabin (super hoping that our bid for Aqua Class, Infinite Verandah, Sunset Verandah, or at least an Ocean View comes through...I haven't been in an inside cabin in about a decade...although, not sure how that will happen since there aren't any available rooms but I definitely bid high, especially for Aqua Class...we shall see as they're all still showing pending and can be updated still.)

I do have a question for everyone...has anyone done a Thanksgiving cruise in a while?  I'm curious if we will see any Christmas decorations put up over the dates we are on board.  I'd LOVE to see the Christmas Tree up on the Edge Class at the Martini Bar 🙂

  4. So question, really looking forward to our cruise coming up on the 27th on the Edge. Did anyone else get an email regarding a change to itinerary.  I’m so confused…

  5. Waiting for this announcement is like waiting to hear about that new earth like planet...horribly exciting but I fear just as disappointing when it comes out. I'm booked on Allure in February. Personally I'm hoping one of the new perks is that for one sea day they lock all guests in their rooms and only let suite guests enjoy the facilities. Not much, just little things like that would help. ;-)

  6. Ok so I'm about one hundred percent sure there are probably multiple threads on here regarding this topic but I am illiterate when it comes to searching and using the boards all that well haha. Forgive me please. The fiancé and I are booked on Allure in February for our wedding cruise with fa,ily but we couldn't wait that long for our next cruise so we decided to take a last minute vacation in September. The price for. Guaranteed Balcony on Independence was just too good. The only problem. We have never ever gone with a guarantee. The cruise looks pretty open though so I'm hoping no horrible rooms but who knows. I keep checking to see when they're going to assign. I'm just so excited and wondering if anyone has any experience with this kind of booking. Would love to hear everything!

  7. So I have been scraping everywhere on here for hints, tips and things to expect on that magical day but I decided to start my own thread due to the nature of our wedding and maybe being of help in the future to upcoming grooms/brides. I am one of the two grooms in our same-sex marriage on Allure of the Seas. Not that this has anything to do with the wedding itself, because the day is the same to us as it is to any other heterosexual couple but there are some things that will need to be tweaked due to the situation. The bouquet comes to mind HAHA.

We also really wanted to do it in St. Martin but since it would not be legal we had to choose to do it day of departure in Florida. We're doing the Paradise Shipboard option for the ceremony. We have our first meeting with the Wedding Planner tomorrow (06/22/15). I can not wait to start this process and get our day all together to start our lives together. So excited to share with our family and friends as well. I'm just trying to figure out the options to customize our ceremony and also getting an hour or two for a reception so that those that are coming in from out of town don't feel they came in for a 30 minute ceremony and then their off the boat and we're gone.

Any help or advice or just general clues on how to remain calm and not freak out would be greatly appreciated! Hopefully, if there are anymore same sex marriages on Royal Caribbean that have questions they can reference this thread and know what i went through. So far so good and so excited!

P.S. Wedding date is the sail away date of 02/14. Valentines Day! Cliche? haha

  8. Anyone done this cruise before? It goes to St. Maarten, St. Kitts, St. Johns, St. Lucia, and Barbados. This is a very port intensive cruise and I'm more of a sea day kind of guy so I'm on the fence but my wife and kids want to do this one. In my thoughts I just see us going into these ports and the ship basically being "shut down" for the most part until 5 or 6 in the evening each day. Then by the time dinner is over we only have a short time each night to really enjoy the ship and all it has to offer. I can honestly say I've never stayed on a ship while in a port before so I really do not know what it's like.

So I guess what I want to know from someone who has done this one or something similar is does the ship close everything in all of these ports or do they leave more things open like the casino and shops because this one is so port intensive? Did you come away the feeling of having been on a nice cruise or were you wore out from being in all the ports and doing activities?

    I appreciate any thoughts!!

We just got back from this same cruise (except Antigua instead of St. Kitts) on Jewel. I have to say I absolutely loved every island except St. Lucia. While it was beautiful we had an absolutely horrible experience with the Taxi tour we took and the downtown area definitely did not feel safe. Our personal favorites were Antigua and also Barbardos. I would go back to these in a second! The boat on days we chilled on board (St. Lucia because we had to ask the tour driver to bring us back home...that's how BAD that experience was) was more than relaxing but happening. They had events by the pool all day but it was bearable because you could find a chair. Also, the plus side was that you had a beautiful backdrop than just the ocean to see while at port. I absolutely love it. The internet on the Jewel meanwhile was HORRIBLE!!!! This should not be shocking though.

  9. My partner and I are more than excited to be going on our 2nd cruise together after this first one on the Liberty OTS out of our home port here in Fort Lauderdale. We've recruited 4 of our friends and the group of 6 of us have all aft balconies on the 8th floor of the Jewel for her southern caribbean cruise Oct 11. A day after my birthday I'm still counting it haha! Should be a fun group of 26-33 year old guys having some fun! Anyone else on there by chance?
